But before I get to the room, let me say, that the location of this hotel is not only just across and down from the train station and the bus station (which is how you go to Slovenia and Croatia-by bus-great day trips!
The location near the railway station, i think was.
The best thing about the hotel is its location - just opposite the railway station.
There were no real mod-cons, and it was functional rather than beautiful, but the central location, friendly staff, parking and cleanliness mean that I would return here in the future.
This hotel is in an excellent position for all the bus/train routes and the evening night life.
I also looked in some other rooms, and they were equally tastefully furnished, with interesting local art on the walls-really, this hotel's guest rooms are far better than one would expect for a 3 star hotel!
The room was basically a small apartment, which we weren't expecting, with a small kitchen, but it was clean and spacious.
BUT the room was clean and the beds comfortable.
Breakfast was very average - usual continental buffet stuff, the staff were excellent and the rooms had good air conditioning.
Oh yes, and the rooms had good air conditioning, if that's what you lneed, as well as minibars with plenty of space.
There is an excellent little bar, and several local trattorias next to and within yards of the hotel, and if you need to buy something cheap, Chinatown is just around the corner-all sorts of bargains there!

They recommended a restaurant(Italian) about 2 blocks away on the same street.
Breakfast was OK but the whole place had a seriously glum feel about it with very little to brighten it up apart from two large aquariums.

The staff, although not overly knowledgeable about Trieste sights and timetables (that was okay, because there's plenty of brochures and the like), were very pleasant and tried to be helpful, which is important-no complaints there.
Moreover great hotel at I've stayed several times and the lobby was attractive.

normally impressed by continental breakfasts in Italian hotels, friendly staff and the room was very large and clean.
The room was clean but the shower was made of recycled plastic and the shower tray was so slippy it was dangerous.
