Real fires, friendly helpful staff, beautiful place to relax and spend time with my partner.

The restaurant menu wasn't as extensive as the room service menu!

Great location, lovely old building. Nice comfortable room, good food.

Reception staff were shocking, the girl on reception twice called by my wrong name, also very slow.

The Hotel has well appointed rooms with a country home feel.

The restaurant didn't deliver. The service was poor (waited 50 mins for food). Had to ask for a bread roll which had been offered to other tables. food dissapointing (3 overcooked scallops no bigger in size than a 10p coin for starter ). Smaller than average portions.

The shower in the hotel has brown stains in between the tiles. There was no heating on the first nite and 2nd nitre it was frezzing and I had to telephone the reception to turn on the heating. I was expecting there is a thermostat in the room. Overall not too bad for the prcie we paid as we have ironing board & iron and tea and coffee available in the room. Decorations very good. It is much more expensive than Travelodge but, the showers in Travelodge is much cleaner.

the showers not very clean and the drinks in the bar are very expensive, £7 for a bacardi and coke.

We arrived at around 12.15. 1 hour and 45 minutes before the 14.00 booking in time and had to pay a £30 early booking fee. The reason that we had to book in early was, we were attending a wedding held in this hotel which started at 14.00. We also had travelled from Inverness and needed to freshen up and dress. We had no choice but to pay this £30 fee. I am very disappointed and for that reason I will not recommend this hotel but want to warn others travelling to this hotel of this very excessive charge.

During this, our first visit to the hotel, we found all the staff charming, helpfull, efficient, welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room we had was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The bathroom was large and modern with bath and a superb shower. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. This trip was for busines reasons, but we will definitely use thist hotel as a base to tour the region.
