Hotel amenities poor , 1 bar open with filthy tables , yes wedding on but no excuse , food only available in bar , menu choice pathetic , outside hotel there is nothing , nowhere to eat . Hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment and for the above reasons is at least £20.00 per night over priced

Staff fetched kingsize duvet and heater within a few minutes. Hotel is right across from train station, but aging.

Minimal acommodations, duvet barely covered top of bed, room cold

Affordable. Reception staff freindly and polite.

No food after 9pm. We were not told this when we checked in even though we told the receptionist we intended to eat at the hotel that evening. Had to get a taxi to an Italian in town. Decor a bit tired and shabby and the bar is clinical and unwelcoming.

Service in the restaurant and the food was awful

The receptionist on arrival was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself had a very old fashioned homely feeling to it unlike the usual more modern & fancy hotels, but this homely air about the hotel made it more comfortable and relaxing especially staying there with 4 kids, felt more like a home away from home rather than a hotel! Have to say we all enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast and the room., It was really nice and quiet and for once no stifling air conditioning.

The evening meal was the same two nights running in terms of starter and vegetable selection. ( Brocolli and Cauliflower soup both days and as the vegetable with the main meal on two days))

I very much liked the bedrooms, they were spacious and the bed was extremely comfy and spacious. The hotel was old but it had character, we found it charming.

The hotel had events every night and the first night it was right under our room, the furniture was shaking and we had a 5 year old to put to bed. The music made it impossible. We were told the music would stop at 22:45, when it didn't at 23:00 we complained again and 5 minutes after that it did stop.

The room was spacious and clean. We both felt comfortable.

Confusion linked to parking, it is unclear whether it is free or not.

as the hotel was close to the train station it was ideal for my stay and i would use again when visiting friends in stoke.

I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a very faded aging 19th-century railway hotel - but while the hotel is undoubtedly old-fashioned, it's well-maintained, clean, with modern bathroom facilities, surprisingly large rooms (given the ensuite bathrooms have presumably been carved out of a corner of the rooms) and excellent value for money. It's also exceptionally convenient for the train station - literally just outside the front door.

While convenient for the station, it's less convenient for Stoke-On-Trent city centre in Hanley (a 20 minute uphill walk). Evening food options are limited in both the hotel and immediate area. Staff could give a slightly greater impression of efficiency. The mattress was slightly lumpy.

Literally two steps from the railway station, a beautiful old building with everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Lovely bathroom with loads of boiling hot water, nice toiletries and fluffy towels.Staff very helpful, breakfast and snacks cheap and plentiful and the rate through only £44 a night. Perfect !

The lady on the front desk was very polite and friendly. The room was very clean and spacious. House keeping in the morning were very friendly. Did not have time in my day to eat at the resturant but from looking in it looked cosy and the staff looked very professional.

Location directly opposite railway station. When I wanted to change rooms I was given a set of keys to a couple of rooms to choose which I preferred.

Apart from a trouser press there was no ironing facilities included in the room that I stayed in.

the staff were good and were happy to rectify the problem no questions asked when i was given the wrong room.

i did not like that we were not allowed to bring food in after the restaraunt was closed, it was late when we arrived and had hungry children with us who we had to get re-dressed after their shower and take out into the cold to sit in the car and eat a take away.

friendly, comfortable hotel, good location for town and station.

Could do with more variety of food
