Norbreck Castle Hotel Blackpool - 黑潭

After being shocked by it's location - the website I booked it on advertised it as the North Shore which, maybe being deluded in some way, I expected it to be somewhere close to the North Pier.

A great location, very handy for bus and i enjoyed that the hotel had many facilities to use.

It could be a stunning hotel given its location but its old, tired, flaking paint, rough, unmotivated staff in filthy uniforms but all that said what can be the excuse for DIRT!

The location is excellent regarding being away from the centre of Blackpool but close enough by bus, tram or taxi to Blackpool, Airport and other more attractive towns nearby which run on the same bus route or tram route.

There is a bus stop, a tram stop and a taxi rank directly outside the hotel.

When we arrived at the room which had a seaview we were very pleased, one double bed in one room with bathroom adjacent and and an ajoining room with 3 single beds.

The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath that was fab but the room was cramped and with the bed next to the door we felt like that we were sleeping in the corridor.

Bed felt comfy and first but woke up with terrible back pain, not very good sound proofing in room as you can hear if people are walking about and in the bathroom you can hear the tv in next doors room quite clearly.

The bedrooms and bathrooms were no bigger but the suites had an additional sitting room which I felt were of no practical use as the furniture was not comfortable but it at least gave the feeling of a bit more space.

The en-suite bathroom was dirty, we also found fag ash on the floor by the bed and cigarrette burns in the bedding.

The food was great with a very wide selection for both breakfast and Dinner and the Chefs were excellent bringing our little boy his very own meal as soon as we entered the restaurant every night so we could eat our meals in peace.

The next morning we went for breakfast and I was stunned to see this being served not only in the restaurant but in the bar and ON THE STAGE which has not been cleaned from the previous busy nights entertainment.

Breakfast is good, nice range of food except can be like a cattle market, as there is lots of people for the size of the restaurant.

00 for an evening meal, bed and breakfast, disco, kareokee and a free bar from 21:00 - 00:00, what more could you want.

Choice of comfortable areas or formal restaurant to eat breakfast, we like the hotel its great u have children.

Receptionist very quick and prompt had a fantastic night, music, rooms, food and staff was all great.

The week that we stayed the hotel was full every night as there was various events on in Blackpool and the staff were under alot of pressure but they all seemed to cope very well and provided a very good service.

3pm ,parking was easy,reception was clean and inviting as were the reception staff.

Firsty when we arrived at the hotel the service was great and the hotel reception and dining area looked lovely.

There was a pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym but it is not exclusive to the hotel.

The hotel admittedly had a lot to offer, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, gym, cinema, copper jacks pub, norcalympia, arcade, pool tables, etc etc but unfortunately standards are poor.

The rooms were very comfortable - and warm, the food was excellent - and plenty of it, the amenities, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, etc, were of the highest quality, and - with the exception of the gym, were included in the price.

Room was ok, had'nt been decorated since the 80's but was spotless clean.

As someone who stays in hotels regularly I found the hotel room good, the hotel generally was clean and tidy and the food average to good.

Our room was basic, quite small, nothing special but it was clean and tidy.

The rooms are very basic but clean and tidy.

Everywhere was clean and when we got to our rooms they were lovely.
