  While searching last minute reservations, I found prices to be very high, I booked through Booked. This hotel is in an excellent location, right on the water. Clean rooms, great bed and with an exceptional view. We were in room 559 and overlooked the Newport bridge. A good sized tub and plenty of steaming hot water were terrific after a long day of visiting the mansions of Newport.

  The rooms are decorated with a Nautical Theme and it's so perfect and cute! The room was super clean when we arrived and the staff kept it that way. Wish i could stay longer - it was such a beautiful hotel with great staff!

  From check in to check out the majority of staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. The concierge volunteered to make dinner reservations at the Mooring when I inquired about it and got us in on a Friday night. The lounge had good appetizers and the largest premium margarita I have ever had in a hotel or restaurant bar.

  They are small rooms with two double beds, a flat screen television, and a medium sized bathroom - nothing out of this world. It has a strange atrium lobby and the design is what you would find at an Embassy Suites, but not as nice. The location of the hotel is quite good, though. I would suggest parking on the street in the evening (about a block away after checking in and taking your luggage to your room if you have a car). The staff at the hotel is pleasant, nothing out of this world and they do not go out of their way to really help you.

  They charge either $20 for self parking or $25 for valet per night.

  Negatives: In my room, both the table lamp and the clock radio beside the bed were unplugged with no obvious wall sockets in sight. Also - the shower tub was very slow to drain so you end up standing in a growing pool of water as you shower.

  The gym is rather nice with a pool and racquetball courts. I didn't like that you had to pay for wireless service considering the price of the hotel.

  The location of the hotel is right by the marina and in close proximity to shopping and restaurants. Our room was functional, somewhat small, the bed was very comfortable, the plasma tv was nice but the location of our room was poor. There were a number of conferences in the hotel and it was booked solid otherwise we would have asked for a better room. There are not alot of rooms facing the marina. The hotel is next to the transportation station to have access to shuttles around Newport. Parking is tight in the garage so don't drive a large SUV to the location.

  We were facing a hallway which faced an elevator making for a very noisy stay between the people talking outside our window and the elevator operating.

  The advantage to this is that there are no crowds (because this is a touristy town), the rooms are much more reasonable and parking is free! Although to be honest, the lot is ridiculous, designed only for compact cars. As it was low season, the 7th floor, Concierge level, isn't truly concierge Monday-Friday. What I can tell you is that yes, the hotel has interior atrium rooms, some with windows overlooking the interior corridor hallways, and some have balconies into the atrium (probably great for kids who get a kick out of it! What I can tell you is that the staff was friendly and moved me up to the 7th floor based on my request as a Marriott member.

  You can hear peoples voices in the other rooms. You can even hear people when they use the toilet! Comfortable rooms, outstanding customer service, walls paper thin.

  The first thing we notied upon entering the hotel (aside from the beautiful lobby) was the wonderful smell permeating the entire hotel! Whatever cleaning products they used were delightful! The beds were sooooooo comfy - we decided to stay in, get room service and watch a movie! They provide water, fruit & towels after working out!

  Also, the fitness center was state-of-the-art and overlooking.
