  Our three day stay in Rhode Island, connected to the subject I teach, has always been greatly enhanced by the superb treatment we all receive at this hotel. I would rate every aspect of a hotel experience as nothing less than excellent. My students have thankfully responded to the treatment afforded them with characteristic good behavior. The front desk staff is always courteous and helpful. If something needs attention in a guest room, the hotel will see to it immediately. The price is quite reasonable for such a first-class location in town. The hotel has a lovely indoor swimming pool, its own full service restaurant as well as ample parking. The food is very good, the banquet facility spacious, and the serving staff attentive and cheerful.

  I would give it a rating of 3, and I added one more for the excellent location. I had called and requested a king bed on an upper floor and was given exactly that, which was very nice. Sure, the water view would have been better but I can't complain about the view we had either. The room was on the small side, but certainly adequate for 2 people for 1 weekend. They have nice bath products and complimentary water.

  Check in was fast and efficient, if not overly friendly (not rude either). First, when we arrived we went to the bar to inquire as to what time they closed and were told the kitchen closes at 10:00 but as long as there are people in the bar, they stay open up until midnight. There were about 10 - 12 people in the bar, but when we walked in we were abruptly told they were closed. It was disappointing because we just would have stayed at the place we had dinner for a drink but now didn't feel like going back out and looking for parking all over again.

  The harbor view room was well worth the extra money. The location of the hotel was exceptional. They provided bottled water and robes which were a nice touch.

  It didn't have a temperature control so if you put the heat on it would keep blasting the hot air like a sauna.

  It is walking distance from good restaurants and bars. Free parking was included.

  The location of this property is in the heart of it all. The rooms are smaller but clean and adequate and the lobby is okay and a bit boring. The restaurant is nice but the staff for the breakfast buffet was a very bitter lady who shot us down when we didnt want the buffet as they dont serve anything else but this for breaksfast. The pool is indoor and very nice and looks out at the harbor.

  I booked this hotel through the website(s) of the property and found that the hotel has two different websites (one of which they dont even know about) and both are very bad.

  We had room #230 at the end of the hall on the 2nd. The room was immaculate and did not smell musty like a lot of hotel rooms. Very nice furnishings, personal robes, tv, coffee maker, hairdrier, above average soap and lotions, iron and board and great room service. On our last morning there my husband wanted to take the bed home - it was extremely comfortable and the sheets felt like butter. Lobby kept fresh homemade cookies for guests. Our room was very clean everyday and had turn-down service with chocolates each night :). Hotel was very convienent to all wharfs for shoppng, eating, tours, and bus station.

  We found the staff to be very friendly. The only thing that I didn't care for, was the front desk told us that the Gala was simi-formal.

  Not to mention that the Marina is gorgeous, the view from the balcony in our room as well as the ambiance of eating lunch outside on the pier is just a really nice experience. The rooms are a little small but this my only complaint in an otherwise flawless stay.

• Staff are helpful and friendly and the bed and room are comfortable. It had free parking while we were there (we were there off season, so this might change), which was fantastic.

  The hotel is not the biggest, but it is right on the water, with a marina behind it, and close to a bunch of shops and bars. This place had a nice outdoor restaurant, Pier 49, where you could just lounge outside and take down a few drinks after working all day.
