  Front desk staff is friendly. Good location.

  Rooms and furniture are very old and warn out.

  I stayed at the Howard Johnson Diplomat Hotel in Malta and was expecting a 4 star hotel. I was very disappointed with the hotel. The room was small and disappointing. The mattresses are very old, thin and uncomfortable and could feel the coils sticking in my back. The bed covers and sheets were old, dusty and warn out. The room had a 13 TV with no remote and very poor picture. The bathroom floor had broken tiles with mildew in between the tiles and cracks. The carpet was dirty and warns out with strings sticking out in some areas. The balcony sliding door did not lock and leaked in water when it rained outside. Overall, the entire room with all its furniture was very old and warns out. The positives about this hotel are the location friendly front desk staff. The hotel is situated close and within walking distance to the shopping and dining areas of St. Julian's and Slema. You only need to cross the street to be on the sea side. This hotel may have been a 4 star hotel thirty years ago. I would give it a 2 star rating, definitely not more. My advice is to pay a little bit more and stays at a more decent hotel. Enjoy your stay in Malta!

  Excellent location, right across the road from the lovely Mar Menor beach front and meals in the hotel can be of exceptional value a little quirky. Staff are all very helpful, free internet access and for that price is perfect choice.

  Shops not far away, you just have to cross the street to get to the beach and i liked the relaxed approach of the hotel staff. The room are excellent, the meals are good.

  Good location, parking on the sea front is also very easy at this time of year and the hotel is nice.

  The staff didn't know the times of bus to the next train station, minor problems - shower window didnt prevent water spashing over the bathroom floor.

  Excellent room sea view, nice little hotel and price extremely reasonable. Friendly and helpful staff, the en-suite needed a complete renovation. The breakfast was very good.

  Perfect for our overninght stop off after landing at Murcia airport en route to our holiday destination and this is an excellent hotel away from the frenzy of the purpose built hotels for the Brit sun seekers.

  Superb location and we used the Hotel as a stopover after coming off a late flight - we were happy. In addition reception staff very helpful all spoke excellent english and internet in the room was a great added extra. The food was good also.
