Nakamanda Resort & Spa

The resorts location is great and the setting is beautiful.

We chose the Nakamanda with some misgivings however we were delighted with the property, its location and its ambience.

Wow, I spent over an hour in the incredible maze of underground tunnels and vaults.

An hour of Thai or foot massage is about 250-300 Baht.

All accomodation is in very spacious, individual bungalows with a massive bedroom (bed was a bit hard though!

The bathtub and shower in the room were fine, but the lobby toilet was stopped.

The room was nice, but being in a honeymoon we hoped to have a special treatment but we had nothing (our only time in our 4 hotels in Thailand) except nice flowers on our bed.

The staff are good, the bathroom/dressing room is also very spacious and the beautiful pool by the restaurant is huge.

We asked for a change of room which was accommodated without fuss and were changed to an upper floor, only for this one to be overlooked by other upper floor rooms (and a horrible view of the staff accomodation and yard).

Altogether, a perfect place to recharge - your only decision is whether to eat at the romantic ocean side hotel restaurant or to stroll out of the gates to one of the two superb and cheaper family run restaurants immediately adjacent.

One restaurant/beach bar is just by the sheraton very cheap and the day beds are fantastic under cover on your very private balcony area.

The food service at Nakamanda was expensive and the taste was not up to par (other than breakfast) so dont' waste your money eating here if you have a choice.

The food at the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff were friendly and competent.

Great laundry service opposite the hotel, attentive staff and shower in the room were fine.

The staff were incredibly friendly and believe me as someone who lives in the country with the highest service standards (Japan) I am hard to impress.

Downsides to this place are hard to find, perhaps the staff can be a little hap hazard with the service at meal times but there genuine pleasent attitude always more than makes up for a slight language barrier.

The hotel is beautiful and services are excellent.

Irish bar around corner good for pool or football, spa are beautiful too.

The bathrooms large enough to be your private spa and the swimming pool is amazing.

The gym was also good for a small hotel and the pool is unique and beautifully designed.

The Hotel itself is very clean, the staff are simply lovely and a private bathroom to shower off in afterwards.

The hotel is great in everyway - clean spacious rooms and the staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The room its self was very clean and modern, the evening food was wonderful.

We also liked the villa that we stayed in: the ample sized room was well kept and clean with touches of small details that you would expect a 5 star hotel to offer.
