Excellent location (within walking distance from the White House - approx. 10-15 min). The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean and right-sized for the price. The atmosphere is nice as well, since the building is a historical landmark. During weekends you can park your car in front of the hotel for free, although they offer a (pretty expensive! $33 per day) garage.

There's no lift for the luggage and the entrance requires to climb few high steps, so watch out. Some rooms have windows over the inner courtyard and/or are located in the basement with no particular view (even bothering, since hotel staff can pass in front of them) but still they're sufficiently bright.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was on the smaller side (I had one on the bottom floor) but I found it to be plenty of room. The furnishings were beautiful and the bed was big and very comfy. Location-wise, it was an easy walk down to the mall or the capital building and the area felt very safe--> I walked the 1/2 mile or so back to the hotel from the area around the capital building by myself at midnight.

Because I was on the bottom floor, the room only had one small window, so there was minimal natural light.

        Beautifully furnished rooms, prompt service.

Morning coffee in the restaurant on Thursday, June 23, was awful! Much better the following day at a buffet breakfast.

Friendly staff and always in a good mood. Good internet access (complimentary), fridge and coffee maker in the room. A very nice place, charming and friendly in all ways, even the bathroom cosmetics, made by Bath&Body works, were great.

A very individual hotel - it didn't feel like chain hotel, every corner you walked round had something different to look at. The terrace was lovely to sit out with a glass of wine and admire the gardens.

The odd thing is that our TV was in the closet - perhaps it could be put up on a the wall!!!!

People were very nice and helpful with directions and or recomendations Good location; liked the porch to stop for a libation or just to sit and rest and watch the world go by before going to room at the end of a busy day of touring. Though our room was very small and didn't have a view to speak of it was indeed quiet .

        Room was very small.

The hotel is in a beautifull house and it is niceley decorated. It is calm. There is a restaurant and you can eat outside on a terrase.

The internet connection was not very good. There is a leck of light in the room.

We most liked the history of the inn. There was a book in the lobby telling about the most historic inns in the United States. The story of the Morrison Clark Inn was very fascinating and it made our stay even more special. Everything about the inn suited our needs and the very attentive staff made our stay most enjoyable.

It's always nice to have a touch of charm in the middle of a bustling city and that is what this inn offers. The rooms are large with high ceilings and are furnished with antiques. There is a lovely parlor on the main floor and an intimate restaurant. We felt like we were coming back home after a busy day.

A little noisy, but hey, this is the city.

The Hotel is a beautiful old mansion and it's a nice change from a business- like chain hotel.

The staff was incompetent and indifferent. I reserved the Victorian Suite, which I had stayed in before. When I got to the hotel, the staff tried to put me in a basement "standard" room. As soon as I opened the door to the room I knew it wasn't the Victorian Suite. I went back to the Front Desk, and they were less than gracious. Asked to see my reservation and insisted on making a copy of it as though I were some sort of criminal. Made no apologies for their mistake-- said the "system" didn't have me in the Victorian room. So I was given another room- but again, it was not the Victorian Suite I had reserved. It was a Victorian room, and it was adequate, but it was not what I paid for or reserved. I believe they gave my room to someone else (I didn't arrived until 10:30 pm but I had guaranteed late check-in). When I checked out in the morning I asked to speak to the manager and was told she wasn't in yet. The woman at the Front Desk suggested I leave my email address, which I did, and said I would hear from the Manager, which I did not. So unfortunately I have to express my dissatisfaction in this forum, as the hotel clearly did not bother to take my complaint with any seriously. I use all the time, with terrific results, and this is the first time a hotel has gotten it so completely wrong.

Being a female traveling by themselves and being safety conscious, I didn't feel comfortable with my room. The standard key entry, windows are easily opened and two exits to the Inn on either side of my door.
