Monterey Inn - Bayfront Saint Augustine - 聖奧古斯丁

Great location and located in historic district.

Best price on the bay, proximity to the festivities of the big event in Jacksonville and the location is very good as so central to the historic centre.

You pay for the location, the room was $165/night on a weekend.

I agree with the last 3 or 4 reviews which precede this one: This is a very overpriced property in an excellent location.

The location is tops and that's why we stayed there.

And the room was cleaned adequately, clean old-tiled bathroom with a good shower, bed comfortable enough, a small TV, a tiny refrigerator, but the carpet did eminate the covered mustiness of a $40 room.

The room at Monterey Inn had many small bugs on the table and the bathroom had black hairs in the tub and a used soap with hair on it.

I recommend this hotel, but only to travelers who are down to earth people who travel to experience life, rather than those who look to be trated like royalty and can't fathom the of staying in a room with an out of style bed spread.

I requested a room with a full bath (with tub).

Granted, the rooms are a little dated, but ours was clean and the bed was acceptable, not the most comfortable, but OK.

The Monterey Inn has a nice coffee shop on premises (Mary's Harbor View Cafe), the food, service and friendliness is unlike most of the big restaurants in the area.

Once you arrive and park on site, you can walk to all of the Old Town attractions, shops and restaurants.

The coffee shop is right next door and has a decent breakfast.

The hotel is right next door to the fort, museums, all the lovely shops and restaurants of the old town.

In addition almost all the bars have Happy Hour between 3, a huge selection of restaurants are just a short stroll away.

The hotel staff at the front desk, cleaning and repair service were very friendly and polite.

The front desk staff at the Monterey seemed always be in a "fog" about what to do when asked, this includes the manager.

While the Monterey Inn should not be construed as a mega-hotel, what it lacks in size is more than made up in it's charm and location and service from both management and staff.

Great location near everything in the historic district, staff at the front desk was very friendly and the room self was clean and old.

It was the SAME rate as the first hotel (10 minute DRIVE from sights, which means a hell of a walk) and had the usual pool, etc.

My only gripe (and reluctantly) was the parking lot fills up fast with oversize vehicles (Leave your SUV at home!

We had no problem finding a parking place even over the very crowded holiday weekend.

Our room was spotless, fresh and the air conditoner worked great.

Also fresh coffee available each morning in the lobby, friendly staff and the room was quite clean.

The staff was friendly, the room was clean.

Staff was great, room was clean and pillows were nice.

The beds were fine, the pool was very clean.
