We bought bottled water (varying prices from outside the hotel, we think they madeup any old price when they saw a tourist!
Moreover very well runned hotel and at reasonable prices.
The room we had was at the back of the hotel with not great views but you pays your money and you take your choice.
The hotel is full of Jordanians who pay around one third of Amex / travel agents rate.
For location, service, and accomodations, the Movenpick Aqaba can not be beat!
We would recommend this hotel to those traveling with kids and old people because of its location & restaurants.
Great location and good choice of local Restuarants close by.
Aqaba itself is a bit of a let down and if you want to snorkel go to the Royal Diving Club for a good day out Taxi cost 4 dinars there.
Petra and Wadi Rum (both do-able by taxi) and we had a good day snorkelling at the Royal Diving Club south of the town.
Hotel staff was excellent, reception were all very friendly and liked the room as we stayed in a two bed room apartment.
The rooms are typical hotel style but the beds are very comfortable and the room staff arrange your towels into interesting displays.
The beds have nice duvets and would be a lot more comfortable with new cotton sheets (and bed pads like the Dead Sea Marriott has - awesome!
Granted they up-graded us to a 3 bed-roomed suite but this is not what you expect from a 5 star hotel.
We were annoyed to have to upgrade our room (at an extra $20 a night) just so we could have a double bed.
The prices for food and drinks in the hotel are very reasonable for a 5 star resort, restaurants in Aqaba itself even cheaper and great food, if you like Middle Eastern cuisine.
One restaurant was closed for refurbishment, but we loved the buffet in the other - from breakfast through to dinner - with dishes for everyone.
Breakfasts were excellent and we also ate at the beachside restaurant.
Service was generally slow both at the beach area and the rooftop bar/restaurant even though it was not that crowded.
One person at the pool bar and upstairs restaurant was immensely helpful and he was a credit to the hospitality business.
This hotel made our trip fantastic, clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly, room service was rapid efficient.
Attentiveness of hotel staff was excellent and service was great.
On the contrary, specially the staff, either the housekeeping or the people at the bars and restaurants and reception were all very friendly and tried their utmost to make our stay an unfortgettable one.
Although the hotel is not directly on the beach it can be reached via a bridge which houses the hotel shops, swimming pool, gym etc.
Rooms are a little tired, housekeeping, over-stretched, resturant staff, useless and pool attendents, over zealous.
The beach and pool are absolutely spotless, well maintained and were never too busy during our stay.
Another thing I have to mention is that the hotel did not provide free high speed internet access - which would have been nice.
The room was spacous and clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Our room was nice and clean, fast and the food was great.
Additionally rooms are clean, buffets also a big part of the catering scene here and aqaba is a good choice.
Much better room etc, breakfast very good and all the facilities excellent v clean.
Our room was bright, clean, comfortable and well equiped.
