Hotel Minerva Sorrento - 索伦托

The hotel is situated in a magnificent location, up on the cliffs overlooking the bay and town of Sorrento, with views across to Vesuvius.

Great location, huge terrace overlooking the bay and hotel Minerva is situated around 500 metres south of the centre of Sorrento about 10 minutes easy slightly downhill walk.

Hotel was wonderful, fab views, great pool and a top location to watch all the goings on down below in Sorrento including the fireworks at night.

Both my wife and I fell in love with the hotel from the minute we arrived(despite the 105 euro taxi fare from Naples Airport, that did not have us initally in the best of moods!

On departure we asked about a taxi back to Naples, the owner arranged a taxi, which was like a guided tour.

Our bedroom was beautifully decorated with a tiled floor and an extremely comfortable bed.

The rooms were lovely and clean, the view is to die for and the bed was comfortable.

We had a large room with a huge, comfortable double bed and a single bed for our daughter.

The rooms are very spacious, include a large wardrobe, TV with Sky, mini bar (that can be used as a refrigerator) and all have air conditioning.

Room was cean and amply sized with twin beds pushed together (a bit uncomfortable, but certainly tolerable given the other amenitites the hotel has to offer).

Sorrento is a beautiful town, full of shops, bar and restaurants and it's a perfect base to visit the island of Capri, the Amalfi cost and te ruins of Pompei.

The restaurant had a terrace with the same wonderful view, where we ate both breakfast and dinner.

There are some fabulous restaurants in Sorrento so do not think this hotels' food is typical of Italian cuisine.

The breakfast I agree with the last comment was not good, tinned fruit and nothing tasted all that fresh - although we ate 3 nights in our weeks stay in the restaurant and it was good to very good.

The restaurant and bar terrace are the ideal place to spend an evening.

All representatives of the hotel from the front desk to the maids to room service were excellent!

The waiter staff were lovely, but the reception staff leave a lot to be desired, didnt smile, say thank you when we settled our bill leaving!

The service by all staff was faultless - nothing was too much trouble.

The service was exceptional, the staff friendly and very helpful (especially Liberato our Bellman and Antonio our bartender).

Everyone morning as we made our way down the corridor to the elevator we would see the housekeeping lady - with her bucket and mop, and we would smell bleach - now that's what I call CLEAN!

The pool and jacuzzi pool were clean, and we had no problems getting a sunbed.

Information at the hotel shows a larger pool in the past that has since been converted to create the main roof terrace area.

The room if im being honest was pretty basic but it was clean and a good size and the staff had a chilled bottle of spumante and fresh strawberries waiting for us which was a lovely touch.

The room was clean and tidy but did not live up to my expectation fof a four star hotel.

The bathrooms were clean spacious and more than adequate.

Good food , very friendly staff, clean spacious rooms, and views to die for, I will definitely be going there again.
