The hotel super, good prices and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
My friend and I went to Miami for Memorial Day weekend, we booked our trip including the hotel 6 months in advance; so we thought the price was so cheap because of the timing.
You will be much happier spending a little more money and staying at a hotel chain.
In my opinion I have stayed at better hotels, for less money and way less hype.
Great beach out back and the location is perfect for a quiet get away.

The Mimosa was the perfect hotel, we wanted to stay somewhere away from South Beach and all the crazyness but close enough to take a bus (safe and cheap) or a cab for a night out.
Speaking of the beach, it is a 10 foot strip of rocky land that barely passes for beach, it has to be the worst piece of beach in all of Miami.
The rooms felt more like condominiums than hotel rooms, however they are nicely decorated and equiped: Great bed and linens, Jakuzzi, DVD player.
I booked a room with a queen bed, which was very comfortable.
The bed was extremely small (2 small beds pushed together).
The room was tiny, had the bath in the bedroom and the whole place felt damp.
The room they moved me to was ocean front and bigger therefore quieter since there were no rooms near it, but NO AIR CONDITIONING in TROPICAL MIAMI.
There was a small bagel shop where we ate breakfast every morning accross the street and exellent dining up the block, i recommend Georges Rest.
Breakfast at a wonderful Bagel place right across the street and some of the best Cuban cusine in Miami beach is located at the Las Vegas restaurant about 6 blocks north of the hotel.
There are plenty of cuban food places and lil shops to eat lunch all along the main road--we also went to Bayside (Downtown) its like a South Street Sea port but Miaimi Style--.
Strongly suggest FiFi's seafood restaurant not well known yet but excellent food and good prices, Pool area nice (fresh beach towels each day) and the beach was great.
There are not alot of choices for restaurants within walking distance - plan on driving for most meals.
The location is fantastic, breakfast at a wonderful Bagel place right across the street and the maid service is great.
