1000 feet away from the hotel there is Di Fara Pizza, which is a good dining choice. Close vicinity, just 10 minutes on foot to Avenue J subway station, was a big plus. We could see luna park from our window

location, near the subway (200 m), safe part of Brooklyn, rooms in hotels are larger than ones in hotels of Manhattan
Many places of room are very dirty (windows, floor under beds, curtain ...). Air-conditioning of a different room made unpleasant noise (although our air-c. was switched off) - I had reported it, but no one tried to repeair.

The room was nice - although the neigbors had a dog that barked quite often. The best part of the stay was that it was near the subway....
I arrived late to the inn (but had let them know ealier of my arrival time) - when I arrived there was no one there! I had to call the manager and he informed me that he had changed my reservation to another location. I had already spent $40 on a taxi to get there - and the taxi had already left. He finally sent a woman over to let me in - she spoke very little English and I could tell she was not happy about having to come and let me in. I stayed 2 nights and saw only one maid the entire time. I have no idea how other visitors have been greeted on their arrival.

Don't let the outside fool you. The inside is very good. It is not a luxurous hotel, but everything you need is there. The rooms are brand new, furnished with ikea and very clean. Breakfast is next door at à mexican organic foodstore. The eggs and potatos a very very good. You have to try them! Try also the delicious fruitshakes. The subway is only a 2 min walk and within 20. Minutes you are in soho. Cheap taxi service to JFK airport: 35$ and you can call them for free in the hotel. Within 5 minutes they arrived.
The pictures you see above are not from the location at h avenue 1306. The bed was very small ( 1.40m). Comfy and romantic maybe for a couple, but not When you are travelling with a friend. There is no personell, so keep the e-mail you'll recive with the code of the frontdoor, so you can enter the hotel.

This place is awesome! It is the best kept secret of Brooklyn! This hotel is nestled in the Midwood neighborhood. Accommodations and rate was exceptional, especially considering the location. I couldn't have asked for a better location. It was a block from the subway station and walking distance to eateries and shopping. The hotel is older so do not expect all the amenities of high end hotel chains. But it does offer a cozy, authentic Brooklyn feel. Daily breakfast vouchers (valued st $3.80 per person) are provided to the Bagel Hole, which is less than a 5 minute walk. Felt safe walking to and from the subway, even at night. Parking is available on the side of the street for free. There are 3 parking spots available in front of the hotel - but those spots are $10 day. So if you want to save some money, park on the street. If you are traveling to nyc for the day, take the q train, and the average train ride to Times Square is approximately 40 minutes.
On our arrival the room was scorching hot. (It was a hot and humid day in July),The air conditioning was not turned on and it took several hours for the room to cool off. The parking "rules" needs to be posted in the "pay for spaces". But other than that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The room was very nicely decorated, very clean and quite comfortable. I also enjoyed the location of the Midwood Suites.
I had a very unpleasant experience with ms staff. I booked my room at least a month in advance (probably more) of my stay. However, I received information about the location of the suites and the procedure to follow to even be able to access my room at 6:00 pm on the day of my arrival at the hotel. I did not check my email in the evening on that day, so I arrived to the location advertised at Booked.net (not the location where I was supposed to stay) at 8:00 pm. I rang the bell numerous times and no one answered; then I managed to see the phone number of the manager and called him. He was very unpleasant; he told me it was my mistake to be in the "wrong" location and it was my mistake not to read my email. He said my room was two blocks away; had I not asked, he would have not given me the door code to enter the hotel. It turned out it was much more than 2 blocks, and my mother and I had to walk with our suitcases and in the cold for at least 6 blocks. Again, had I not asked, I would have not had known how to enter the hotel. The hotel itself was very nice, clean, and comfortable, but again, receiving fundamental instructions such as the actual location of the room and the code to enter on the same day I was to arrive is absolutely unacceptable. As I mentioned before, the email that was sent to me was sent on the day of my arrival at 6:00 pm. This is even a big mistake, when the check-in time is at 3:00 pm. I have stayed at similar suites in Brooklyn in the past; I understand that these kinds of suites do not have a permanent reception and therefore information such as the door code are essential. However, in the other suite I stayed, I received this information at least two weeks in advance, so I was prepared. Because I did not receive any details from Midwood Suites, I assumed it was a HOTEL and not a place where this information was needed.

we came the sunday of the hurrican expecting to stay the night. they actually called us to confirm we were coming. we were meeting the parents of my future daughter-in-law & needed a place close to their home. the room was small -- no table, chair -- very new & clean. we used it for changing our clothes, email, etc. we didn't stay that night because of the storm. they called the next day to see if we had checked out or not. i guess with the storm, they wanted to verify where all the guests were. parking -- on street not a problem.
got a studio -- next time, i would get a larger room for two people. no chair or table in room.
