Metropolitan Hotel Toronto - 多伦多

The hotel is situated in a very good location downtown.

I chose the Metropolitan based on location for my business meetings in Toronto and price (which was $35/night cheaper than the nearby Sheraton Centre).

The location was really good, a metro station nearby, and we found plenty of restaurants and bars we liked within short walking distance.

It is very easy to get anywhere, as the subway is 1 block away, and a taxi to most anywhere downtown is under $10.

It was only a 20 minute walk to the CN Tower and the hotel concierge supplied a very comprehensive map which showed the major tourist sites, PATH walkways and Subway stations so we were able to get to everywhere we planned to visit.

Once we arrived at the hotel,we were informed that the room had 1 bed and that there was no available rooms left and that we could upgrade to a luxury suite at our expense.

The room was nice, large bed, good view of the CN Tower but the bathroom and furniture looked like they needed upgrading, strange when we had been told that the room had just been refurbished.

We were travelling with our 11 year old son and our first room alloacted (by mistake at reception) had a only a King Size bed, not the two double beds booked.

We were given a very small room that despite a tiny bed still made me feel claustrophobic, the carpets were dirty and the bathroom again was cramped.

The room had a stale smell and my wife was actually concerned about going anywhere near the bed or the bathroom due to an unclean feel from the room.

Room service food was lovely, and the breakfast menu in the hotel restaurant was fab too!

The Senator restaurant a few blocks away can't be beat for breakfast in a 1929 diner setting at a great price.

The service received while at the hotel is exceptional both in the bar, main restaurant and the fantastic Chinese restaurant.

We didn't try either of the restaurants as we wanted to explore Toronto but we tried the cocktails in the bar which were very good.

The breakfast buffet was delicious, with plenty of choice, and I had a delicious steak in the Hemispheres Restaurant.

Have just returned from a 4 night stay at the, metropolitan found the service at reception excellent with fast and efficent check in/out concierge very helpful he was able to organise a trip to niagra falls for us.

The front desk staff, concierge, housekeeping are always courteous and friendly.

In fact, all the front desk and concierge staff were very friendly and helpful.

OK gym, freezing cold pool but brilliant spa (must be 4'+ deep in the middle!

The pool, jacuzzi, exercise room, and sauna were wonderful to come back to after a day on our feet.

A nice little health suite with Jacuzzi, heated indoor pool and sauna complete the experience.

Bottom line, I don't mind paying money for high-speed internet, but I do mind when the fee isn't disclosed at all.

The rooms, while small, are of adequate size, well appointed, and are always clean.

Staff were very helpful and the rooms were very clean.

Our double room was very clean and comfortable and the coffee- maker was well used by us.

My King-size room was smallish, but clean and comfortable.

The bathroom looked clean so we never figured out where the putrid smell was coming from (?
