The location was excellent, also the hotel was very conveniently located in a central position for shopping in Salisbury and all the staff were very helpful.

The beds are soft and the bed linen in my room was dirty.

The bathroom was in a worse condition than the actual bedroom - peeling wallpaper, a very noisy extractor fan, tiny cramped washbasin area squeezed between the bath and toilet.

The room was beautiful - very big with a lovely comfortable bed which we drifted off to sleep in rapidly and original sash windows which give extra charm to the room - definitely worth getting an upgraded room if you possibly can!

We had asked for one of the 4 nicer four poster bed rooms, and were pleased to learn that we had it.

We had booked a superior room through the Macdonald's central reservations and were advised this would be a four poster bed (as shown on their website).

The lounge area is spacious with an open fire; there is also a large bar area and restaurant.

I had quite a nice meal in the restaurant and the buffet breakfast was nicely displayed with ample choice and the full English breakfast freshly cooked.

We ate at the Chinese restaurant 50m down the road for 6 pound and really enjoyed the meal.
