Mercure Secession Vienna - 维也纳

Well situated for old area, the location of the hotel was superb and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

It's also possible to skip walking down the pretty streets of Vienna and to emerge from the underground passageways near the Opera House (or any other location).

In terms of location, the Secession has you covered.

Bottom line: great location, great deal, great staff.

It has a very good location, it's within walking distance of everything.

For a single traveller, the room will be enough -- there's a desk, a comfortable bed, a closet (with in-room safe), and a bathroom: what else do you need?

My nonsmoking room, in the newer part of the hotel, was immaculate, and incredibly comfortable; the bed was a true joy, and the feather pillow (with an extra in the closet) fantastic.

The bathroom was huge and very nicely decorated, with a large corner-bath - very unusual.

Very good breakfast in cosy dining room, excellent Vietnamese restaurant next door and great Wine Co.

As it turns out, the hotel was in a great location, with a nice strip of restaurants a block away, a really nice restaurant around the corner, some cute restaurants nearby, close to a shopping strip, close to the Vienna sights (two blocks or so from museum quarter, walk-able to St Stephens, etc.

The concierge recommended a traditional viennese restaurant to us for dinner- 'Augustliner Heller' based in a very old cellar near the Opera House and we had two delicious authentic meals amongst the local crowd.

The fresh flowers in the lobby lent the path to the elevator a delightful spring smell, a nice touch after coming in sweaty from hours of sightseeing.

We had elevator problems, but it was still a great deal.

The hotel has a good positioning, friendly staff and room was quiet and clean.

The rooms are very clean and the drinks bar is open at all hours for a wide variety of beverages.

My room was very large, very clean, modern, bright and comfortable.

My room was ready in lesss than half an hour, and was extremely large (apparantly one of the larger ones in the hotel based on conversations with other colleagues staying at the hotel), and very clean.
