If you want a value for money hotel with no surprises (good or bad) then this is a decent option.
I would rate this hotel as one of the best of the 13 hotels we stayed, the price for a double room was not so high.
I booked my hotel on octopus travel and luckily printed the confirmation page and had it with me- they REQUIRE it upon checkout in order to validate your payment so I don't know what would happen if you do not bring it!
So, adding all these transportation cost up, you may wanna consider a more expensive hotel but one that is close to the city center!
Convenient location and the bus tickets were really expensive as they cost 1.
The location near the town centre is excellent and kid stay free.
Not far away from the city's walk zone and the hotel is is a very good location.
13 euros from the airport to the hotel in a taxi.
It is a little ways from the train station so if you have a lot of luggage you will probably need to get a taxi, but the prices seem to always be reasonable so it is worth it and the taxi fare is only about 6-7 euros.
We had booked a room with a double bed and they let us look at a few different room setups and actually took us to 3 different rooms to choose which set up we prefered.
The rooms were very spacious and spotlessly clean, decent bath/shower room, white linen on the 3ft twinbeds pushed together and a sofa,table and chairs.
Furnishing is modern, beds good quality, bathroom big, well equiped.
Salzburg was warm (in the 80's), and there was no air conditioning in the hotel rooms.
However, the room itself was spacious and bright, and with the windows opened and the fan going, we didn't really need airconditioning.
The breakfast was fabulous - probably one of the best included breakfasts had in all of europe - it has cereals, hot food incl boiled eggs, salmon, yogart, juices.
We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and I have to say that the service was extremly friendly and the food was good.
Prices in bar and restaurant very steep but plenty of restaurnats nearby so not a problem.
The breakfast buffet was very good and the dinner consisted of local austrian menu(soups,the main dish and dessert-drinks were charged separately if you have half-board).
We arrived at breakfast at various times, and always found the hot food to be stale/old.
We were impressed with the reception staff who were friendly and more than happy to advise us on places to eat etc.
The staff was polite,the front desk very helpful and the the location quite convenient.
The front desk staff were pleasant but inexperienced.
We asked the front desk staff to send several items to the laundry.
Used the sauna one evening, provided with key to the spa and gowns at reception.
Secure underground car parking at the hotel at a cost of 10 euro per day.
Parking is 10 EUROS a night but it is safe and secured.
The rooms are contemporary and very clean- have absolutely no complaints!
