Mercure Salvador Rio Vermelho - 萨尔瓦多

Good no frills choice in a convenient location, the rooms were very clean.

I really liked the excellent location on the beach and shopping near hotel.

The location is quite convenient because it is not far from all the attrations and also you have a lot of buses and if you use a taxi for less than 20 "reais" you can get everyplace (pelourinho, cool restaurants.

It's around a 30min drive from the airport and the same from the old town.

Room is very clean, right size, has a GREAT BED and cable TV with good channels.

However next door to the Mercure is the IBIS which is half the cost (we paid around £25 per night per room) the only major difference was the IBIS didn't have a hair dryer or mini bar.

It's a great hotel, the breakfeast is excelent, the view from the window of the bedroom is worderfull.

I think the rooms even had hair dryers (important for us women!

You overlook the pool and the crashing surf from the room window.

You could also eat your breakfast on the terrace facing the sea.

Relatively close to the Ibis was my favorite restaurant for bahian food.

The food and ambiance there were exceptional, and the cooking was a lot lighter and healthier than in the other famous traditional restaurants, such as "o sorriso da Dada".

There is a large selection for breakfast including a good range of herbal teas.

Nearby are a plethora of restaurants (sushi, Italian etc) and a few bars.

The reception staff were unwelcoming and apart from them, very little English was spoken.

The staff were very helpful and even let us have a late check out for free.

Service is sometimes slow but very friendly.

The pool area was nice with plenty of sunbeds but no drinks service or other amenities.

Excellent situation, full services, a terrace-pool over the sea, medium size rooms perfectly cleaned and lots of restaurants very near ( it´s interesting in a city like Salvador, with a chaotic transit most of the day).

It is very new, modern, clean and with a beatiful swimming pool.

We stayed at the Mercure for three nights in September to sightsee in Salvador and to enjoy some pool-time.

The bedroom is clear and modern and the staff is very gentle.

The rooms were very clean and decent size and we were lucky enough to have sea views which were fantastic (shame there was no balcony).
