lovely, the room overlooking the lake was wonderful and we found this hotel to be excellent value for money - very comfortable - great services.
In fact, given that I just stayed in the Mercure Welcome Melbourne 2 weeks earlier I can safely say that all the Mercure hotels need some serious money spent on upgrading.
There is also a shopper bus that runs every 30 minutes from the hotel entrance to the centre although you do have to pay for this.
Excellent views over the lake and great hotel going to go sking.

This hotel is situated about 5 mins away from the main streets of Queenstown, however it was easy to get transport in - taxi fare was around $8 NZ, or the shopper bus called in approx every 30 minutes.
Far away from town centre and cabs are very cheap.
We stayed 13 nights in a King Bed Lake view room, with the absolute highlight being the amazing view from our window.

I was in a normal room that looked into the pool garden, but then saw the view from the restaurant and flipped - it IS the best view in the town.
The views are amazing, the drive is quick back into town and the lobby of this hotel is quite nice.
