Mercure Lille Centre Opera

The rooms are a little dated in the decor and layout of our room was a little strange with the toilet completely seperated from the bathroom (and therefore a sink to wash your hands) by the bedroom.

Bed extremely comfortable and bathroom well equiped.

Our twin room was not large but was well appointed and the bathroom was enormous and newly renovated - with balconies in both bedroom and bathroom!

We had a reasonable sized bedroom and a very large en suite bathroom which was almost as big as the bedroom.

Bed really comfortable, clean towels and good selection of food @ breakfast.

Lobby leads off to the right into a small but pleasant lounge and then around to the bar/breakfast area.

Round then back of the bar was avery pleasant L-shaped lounge, in use during the mornings to serve a most satisfying breakfast.

Clean hotel, great central location (though our room was opposite a very noisy bar), lovely breakfast including bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs as well as the usual continental options.

Breakfast taken in the bar area is well up to Mercure expectations.

The location was perfect, hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the service was excellent.

I got a very prompt reply, saying that the hotel didn' t have parking but that the Vinci Opera Parking was a mere 50m down the street.

To my surprise, when I checked in the lady at the desk asked me if I had found the parking okay, as she noted I had sent them a query.

Other reivewers are right, there is only one small lift but we only ever caught it with our luggage and never had to wait long.

Wireless internet is available but the signal was too weak on the fifth floor and you have to pay using visa (via an unencrypted connection) £7 for 2 hours (over a 24 hour period).

Our room was was quite small, but it was clean and well-kept.

Bathroom were clean, the breakfast buffet was good value and extensive.

Convenient to all places of interest in Lille, the reception is helpful and efficient, our room seemed to be both clean and quiet.

The hotel itself was fine, the staff were also very friendly and the bathroom was clean.

The rooms were clean and of a good size and nicely decorted.
