Mercure Johor Palm Resort & Golf

Hmmmmmm now i'm scouting for new location around Johor area for a weekend get-away.

The only good point was that it was very near the airport and that there was a shuttle bus to take us there.

I and my friends wait for one hour but they still cannot get a taxi for us.

When we returned to the room at 11pm, the bed was not there, and again, neither were there any bath, floor nor hand towels.

Room - Big and Spacious, bed is comfortable.

TV's had been upgraded, as had kettles, and the room that I stayed in second time round (Deluxe Suite) seemed to be generally smarter than the one I stayed in last year.

When we wanted to shower, we realised that (as it happened last year too) there were no bath, floor nor hand towels with the room.

Rooms reeked, bathroom ventilator was faulty, towels were grey and torn.

Breakfast the following day was terrible, there was either no food and lots of plates or no plates and lots of food.

We could not have a quite and relax breakfast because the rest of the guests that were still queueing were giving us the looks (buzz off after eating kind of look).

Food wise, I'd say that one will have to make do with the food outlets as the nearest decent restaurant is 30minutes away by car.

My roomie and friend went to one of the food outlets for breakfast and also noticed that the chairs there were stained.

Having spent a few months out there on business (and with there not being much else to do) I spent a fair amount of time in the bar, and the staff became friends (notably Erna and Wan, very professional, friendly and funny).

Staff service was good, no complains at all.

Staff were friendly enough, although a little slow with the service.

A nice resort but severly let down by appalling service standards and a don't care less attitude from the staff.

In fact, the place is poorly maintained, the staff is rude, moody, poorly trained, and have no concept of customer service.

The facilities were great and we enjoyed bowling and swimming and the sauna.

Pool was large enough and there is another Olympic size pool that is shared with the Golf club next door.

A sandwich by the pool also took 1 hour in arriving.

The rooms are ample and they are very clean.
