The location is central, near the Messe, the convention center, and the neighborhood seems a quiet and fairly nice mix of businesses and residences.
The location was excellent for a walking/public transportation visit to Basel, the hotel was great and the staff were very helpful.
I had been told it was a decent place to stay, mostly because of location.
I used it to get back to the airport (30-40 mins).
Great hotel, ten minutes from the Rhin river by walk it´s in Klarastrasse a street with shops and many trams that takes you straight to railway station and any place in Basel.
The room was nicely decorated, big king size bed, one half bathroom and one full bathroom with shower/tub combo.
Sadly, the only double room left in the hotel had only a double bed in which was not acceptable to us.
My room was the size of large closet, out of date, hot, with no air-conditioning (and we had a bad heat wave while there), terrible amenities, one old and threadbare towel in the bathroom which was absolutely tiny, etc etc.
The rooms were excellent, spotless bathroom with power shower, mini-bar and safe.
We decided to upgrade to this room, since we have stayed at Mercures before and know their rooms run a bit small and with a running and climbing one year old we need the extra space.
Breakfast was included and was very good.
The breakfast buffet was very vairied and well presented.
Very good restaurant attached to hotel and friendly staff.
They have baby chairs/high chairs in their restaurant.
Breakfast buffet is very nice and complete.
Pleasant staff at reception and comfortable rooms.
At a very reasonable price, friendly staff and the receptionist was very helpful.
In addition at a very reasonable price, good service and we were greeted by a male receptionist was very helpful.
Where do I start: No room service, surly, unhelpful and aggressive staff, charges on my bill for using the internet (after staff had refused to tell me whether there was any charge for using this service!
The views are not very nice but the staff service is really great.
During the day in the lobby they have free flow orange juice, apples and lackerli ( chewier gingerbread that is a speciality of Basel-nice touch!
They have a separate area for women to park, which is closer to the lift.
The hotel was great, the staff were very helpful and pleasent, the hotel and the rooms were spotless.
The rooms were spotless, the restaurant next door was very good and the receptionist was very helpful.
The hotel was great and the bathroom was also very clean.
The hotel was reaaally clean, with smoking and no-smoking rooms.
