Location was excellent and the hotel was clean.
The Mercure's location is quite central, the hotel is located near the train station.
Nice location for business travaers as is very close to the train station and i would definitely stay here again as is great value at.
A great location to see the Altstadt and nice hotel - rooms are a bit small.
Location ideal for a 3 minute walk to the main station and from there access to the Dusseldorf underground system.
Very easy for us to get to the Philipshalle (to see Scooter), and to get to stations near the Christmas markets.
During my last stay I was given a large room with separate sitting area which makes you think you're in a suite (hey, maybe I was, but I didn't pay for one) and a bath big enough for my new girlfriend and I to fool around in.
Very comfortable bed matress, good breakfast.
Put it like this: the prices are generally only a few Euro more per night than is being asked for the Ibis at the Hbf (main railway station), one tram stop away, and you could fit at least 2 Ibis rooms into the room I stayed in at the Mercure.
The rooms were big and the bathrooms were impressive.
A downpoint was the bad maintainance of the rooms which showed in numerous scratches on the walls and doors and some mold on the joints of the bathtub walls.
Also the food in the restaurant was good.
Breakfast was excellent and the locals were very friendly.
Also staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet is well stocked.
Breakfast left nothing to be desired: eggs, bacon, sausages, waffels - you name it.
There are many cool bars and restaurants.
Good location near the main station, the hotel was very clean and the staff at reception were extremely friendly.

Front desk staff varied from the totally apathetic to the genuinely helpful.
I waited for my luggage to be delivered and for the desk staff to notify me when it arrived from the airline- only to find out it had been sitting at the front desk for 4 hours while I twiddled my thumbs in the room.
Most interesting areas, fantastic hotel and good parking at extra fee of €17 per 24 hours.
Room was spotless, breakfast was expansive and tasty.
The rooms are small, but clean and up-to-date.
A good hotel in a very friendly and comfortable clean room.
Moreover excellent valve for money, service was just OK to good and the room was clean and comfortable.
