Mercure Budapest Korona - 布达佩斯

The location of the Merucure Korona is pretty good: it is close to Danube river & Vaci street, few meters away from the Market Hall and right accross from the National Museum.

The location was near perfect (even if it you did not have any view of the city, not to speak of the Danube) with short walking distance to the city center.

The primary reason for me booking in at Mercure Korona was because of the excellent location and because all the people from the staff were very polite and helpful.

Hotel is perfectly placed for Gellert Baths and trams and underground (take bus 200 from airport to blue metro line and Kalvin Ter station is next door to hotel).

The location is perfect - you just roll out of bed and you're in the Metro for super-handy access to the airport or Nepliget bus station, as well as museums etc.

The mini bar was well stocked& the room serviced daily with the bed being made & clean towels provided.

Our room was very modern with a large double bed, desk, chair and TV.

We stayed at the Korona 18-20th March having booked a 'superior' room ie with a double bed.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was also very small but adequate.

3 people and got a room for 2 with one more bed.

The hotel tapas bar and restaurant were more than adequate when we wanted something quick to eat.

The bar & restaurant overlook the street which makes interesting viewing.

Overall, the hotel looks quite nice - the lobby, the bridge bar, the restaurant.

There were the restaurants/ bars etc , but we eat out in a greek 'Pireaus?

Don't eat in the restaurants, though, as they are very overpriced.

Be careful with the reception and concierge staff.

The reception staff were generally very helpful.

Reading the previous number of comments after I had booked the hotel I was slightly concerned, however I need not have worried, the hotel staff were very friendly, including the front desk and swimming pool attendent.

The free pool and sauna were refreshing after a days walking, but the pool is lounging not swimming - about 20ft long.

First, parking is very expensive (EUR 20/night) and you have to give the car to the man in the parking to go up the elevator many floors.

The pool was pleasant, about 30feet long and never crowded.

ROOM WAS CLEAN BUT VERY SMALL, AND EVEN IN A NON-SMOKING ROOM, YOU COULD SMELL THE SMOKE.

The bathroom had a lovely shower and was kept extremely clean by the cleaners.

Breakfast very good, rooms a little on the small size but clean and confortable.

Afforded us a good view over the Karvin Ter area, helpful staff and rooms are nice and clean.

The rooms (ours was a non smoking) are very small but are very clean.
