On the whole a good hotel, but overpriced bar prices.
I would recommend the hotel as a great place to stay if you want the whole 4* star experience, well worth the money.
Bar prices were as you would expect from a 4 star hotel The Head receptionist Jane was always keen to ensure that your stay was a pleasant one.
Areas are clean, the hotel is smart and the prices are good.
Beautiful view over the lake, location & setting very good and we found the staff very friendly and helpful.

Other than this, the weekend break went very well indeed - the room was nicely decorated, the bed was comfy, the bathroom large and clean, and the 'standard extras' were all there.
The bathroom was dirty, the furniture shabby, the minibar empty and the room, bearing in mind this was meant to be a suite, dank and dismal.
The bathroom was better, again very spacious with a freestanding bath and separate shower - no bath robes or slippers provided as you would expect in a junior suite.
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom quite large.
Even if you can't get / don't want a treatment, it's worth visiting, as it's got a nice indoor pool (a little small, though), and a great 'thermal suite' with various saunas, steam rooms, an ice room, and 'experience showers'.
The 3 course meal in the main restaurant was excellent and we also ate in the bar which was done up beautifully and was very relaxing with equally good food.
A large well stocked bar welcomed us and 2 excellent evening meals in the restaurant.
I can't comment on bar prices, as we didn't use it, but a bottle of water in the restaurant (I think half litre) was £4.

Only minus side of note, the waiters in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast were pleasant but the service a little slow.
Service were really excellent and the receptionist was very welcoming.
Friendly staff on hand and the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful.
Other staff excellent, big room and the food was to a high standard service was fine once seated.
The staff service in the bar area was very good and the hotel was generally excellent - very interesting history to the.
The health club blew me away, all the latest machinery and the spa facilities which included a pool, jacuzzie, 2 types of sauna, 2 types of steam room and an Ice Room where great.
The Pool/Spa is good many areas of improvement are needed and no lifts as Hotel is old school.
The pool area is very nice, this hotel didn't provide either and the spa is lovely.
The modern side of the hotel is a little nicer than the older side but all rooms and areas are clean.
