  In the end thats an extra $140 just to get to and from the only places you would go, ultimately you would be better off to take more care and book a place closer, pay more money and in the end get a hotel where the pool room is not locked the whole time and where the satelite television actually works.

  $35 taxi ride to Memphis and stangely a $35 taxi ride to Graceland.

• Pluses: The boys were happy with the indoor pool and the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

  Some of the bathroom showers were in horrible condition.

  The Staff were all very friendly, pleasant and helpful, regarding things to do etc. The rooms were not in very good condition, furniture in disrepair.

  A/C wasn't working properly in the bar and the hallways were hot. The price was too much for the condition of the room.

  Didn't realise it was so far from everything and since my husband has a powered wheelchair and there were no accessible taxi-cabs, this would have been a huge problem had it not been for the most wonderful taxi driver who turned up at the airport, helped me lift my hubby and the chair into his van and then realising we were totally stuck (It was my husbands dream to visit Graceland), offered to give us the hire of his services driving us around in his own van using a plank of wood for a ramp all week. The hotel staff were really friendly but cleaning services were not up to scratch and the place needs a major makeover. I would definitely stay in Memphis again, maybe even this far out if we could get adequate transport but probably not in this hotel, mainly because of the slightly neglected feel it has about it.

  We checked three rooms and all had no air conditioning or hot water. The room had a musty scent that was nauseating. After requesting better rooms and examining 3 other rooms, we settled in the best one, which was musty and had no air or hot water.

  Although our reservations got lost somehow they immediatly got us up and into a room and helped us out whenever we had any questions. The bathroom was perfectly clean and the beds and room itself were definitely good. It's possible we just had a good room and some people had bad rooms but the one we stayed in was definitely easily worth what we paid and I'd recommend it to everyone I could if they were looking for a solid cheap hotel.

  It's an average stay for a below average hotel price. One of the things I look at when I first arrive are the cars in the parking lot. I have stayed at other hotels paying upwards of $200 per night and be woken by noise. I found the front desk staff extremely pleasant.

  Yes, it does need some updating and things in the rooms are outdated. I had a problem with the tv reception on one channel, but I wasn't in my room for very long anyway so it was no big deal.

  I took an exit where there were a bunch of the usual hotels and for some reason, I drove up to the lobby area of the Memphis Plaza. I was given a 2nd floor, king-sized room. Free wi-fi service with excellent reception.

  We arrived with a PREPAID confirmation number that evening at 7 pm and the girl at the desk told us we did not have a reservation. She did not even LOOK at my reservation number.
