If you get a good deal for it on Booked.net like I did, it's really fantastic, but if I were paying full-price for a hotel at central Washington DC prices, I'd like to actually be at a hotel more central to Washington DC.
The layout of the hotel is confusing and asking guests to pay extra for use of the internet at the business center at the hotel is ridiculous considering the $300+ price tag during the offseason!
The Marriott Wardman Park was a good hotel and great value for the DC area.
Please compare the special hotel price offered via email/phone for specific dates with various internet sites.
The location is outstanding and the neighborhood is wonderful.
The location of the hotel is excellent -- a safe neighborhood right by a Metro stop on the red line.
Because of the central location, it was very easy to get around.
It's only 10 minutes on the excellent subway service to Metro Centre and Union Station so not really too much of an effort to find to get good quality at a good saving.
The Metro was great to drop us by all the sites in DC with no trouble -- clean and there were Metro staff around to answer questions when we bought our subway cards.
My room was a fairly standard single-occupancy queen bed room - I didn't request any kind of a special suite - but it was magnificently stylish and spacious, with modern fixtures and appliances, including a 27-inch LG flatscreen TV.
Although I was surprised that the rooms haven't been updated -- or at leas the room I was in -- to the new Marriott bed standard.
The room was great, nice flat Screen TV, great desk and king size bed was very comfortable.
The room was well appointed with very comfortable beds/pillows, a work desk, flat screen TV, alarm with i-Pod plug-in, nice bathroom with decent shower pressure and some good toiletries.
The room was certainly adequate with a nice duvet and throw and lots of cushy pillows for watching TV in bed.
Our meal at Harry's pub was good, but the breakfast buffett at the Stone's Throw restaurant was overpriced.
The next morning, we were sitting in the restaurant eating our breakfast when the server that assisted us the first morning of our visit approached our table and rudely said that we had walked out without paying on Sunday morning.
However, there's a number of good small restaurants catering for different tastes a short walk away so give that a go - Murphy's of DC (near the metro stop) is a friendly and welcoming bar with live music and worth a visit.
Kudos for quickly making and delivering items ordered from the menu (the restaurant’s primary breakfast fare is a buffet), but my waitperson seemed perplexed when I asked for Tabasco® sauce and ketchup to go with my eggs and hash browns.
This a magnificent old hotel that we loved until we had breakfast in Perle's restaurant.
Maid service was fine and the concierge was helpful.

The outdoor pool was nice but the absence of a spa was noticable.
I always request to be placed as far away from the elevators as possible (due to several sleepless nights when I was placed next to the elevator at some conference resort hotel in Coronado, near San Diego).
It's a huge hotel and has a nice large gym with personal tvs on the fitness equipment.
Plus I was none too happy that there was no free wireless and that the high-speed was $9.

Check-in and check-out were a breeze, our room was clean and spacious, the staff was cordial and helpful.
Our room was nicely appointed and fresh and clean.
The bathrooms were clean and neat, and the hallways were fresh and well maintained.
