There is a charge for every small request, when other hotels of this rating/price/night are very happy to fulfill with no charge or a limited charge.
I would never stay here again at any price, and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
The location is great and the hotel is very well located right next to the old market.
The location is great and right by restaurants and the market shopping.
The service, location, style was absolutely first class.
The location is fantastic--near many great restaurants and other Charleston sights--and the design of the hotel is elegant.
After about 20 minutes (mind you we were trying to get to the airport on time) the charges were fixed.
The guest rooms were spacious and the baths nicely finished in marble.
The rooms are lovely, the bathrooms are super-nice, done in marble and have the separate bath and shower and are very very clean.
Our room was a luxury guestroom with the best of linens, his/her robes, top of the line furniture and accessories.
Nice decorated rooms,baths and open pool.
One caveat - I had a room on the second floor and the windows directly overlooked the parking lot, so I had to keep the windows shut at all times, so I would try to avoid those rooms.
You have to consider it your lobby because there aren't any places to lounge in the entrance because it is a restaurant / bar.
We stayed on the concierge level (not much more than the regular rooms and very much worth it) - we ate one meal outside of the hotel the entire time because they fed us breakfast, a late lunch, and then drinks with munches from 6-8.
The two restaurants they have on sight are Grill 225 and the Pavilion Bar and cafe.
Also, it would be nice if the restaurant was open for breakfast instead of room service being the only option.
We never ate in the hotel restaurant because we did not enjoy the food on the pavillion and I assumed it came from the same restaurant.
I have stayed at the Charleston Place Hotel before and whilst the room and services are very similar to Market Pavilion , the Charleston Place most definitely has the edge on the front desk staff.
We were on the concierge level in a spacious and beautiful room, had nice breakfast and pleasant service.
The valets and Front Desk staff were professional and welcoming.
Breakfast" consists only of self served coffe,juices and danish on a table at elevator´s lobby of each floor.
Also if you can, ask for a room away from the elevator lobby.
The roof top pool is fun and at night it is hopping with all kinds of people.
The view from there is very nice, the Market Pavilion Hotel is a great find and free high speed internet.
Most notable was that the room was so fresh and clean, it felt as though we were the only ones who have ever stayed there before.
The room was beautiful and the property is very well maintained and clean.
Our room was very luxurious, spotless and quiet.
We found fresh flowers in our room each day.
