Marina Palace Hotel Rio de Janeiro - 里约热内卢

For the second trip, I chose the Marina Palace primarily for its neighborhood and location and was impressed with many improvements made to the hotel.

This is the best location to saty in Rio ( Leblon ) , fantastic beach in front of the hotel - with security.

The best part is the rooftop pool/sunning area and location just across the street from the beach.

Found the place, ditched the car and enjoyed Rio on foot, by cab and bus (the latter: great, once you get the "hang" of them).

Found a few really nice restaurants, all on foot, and later at night, back via bus.

A friend's room came with 2 twin beds eventually pushed together to make a large, single bed.

The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, the king size bed comfortable.

Bed offerings in all rooms are decidedly European.

Another friend's room had a king-size bed.

Deluxe Suites - Large 1-bedroom accommodations overlooking the beach.

The breakfast was excellent and plenty of it and to our surprise the one evening we were forced to eat in the restaurant, due to the most amazing thunderstorm, the food was very good indeed!

We didn't eat at the restaurant, however it was always packed at breakfast time.

The restaurant on level 2 was nothing special, especially since there are great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

Breakfast was superb with an extensive range of fresh fruits, yoghurts, cooked and cold breakfasts, cereals and range of different breads on offer.

Jobi is a restaurant/bar which is always full and very livley.

The front desk staff recommended us a great restaurant nearby.

Most of my recent hotel experiences have been pretty uneventful but it seems arguments and clarifications constantly arise when requesting concierge or other services.

Loved the hotel and the price couldn't be better for the location and the hotel staff and services.

As friends and I had 3 different rooms, I can offer the below advice regarding Rooms, Pool, Elevators, Location and Service.

The roof top pool and gym are also being refurbished and were out of use but I was able to use the gym and rooftop pool at the Marina All Suites which is right next door.

There's also a Sauna, and the pool is tiny.

We had no issues with the air conditioner or the wireless internet ($15/day).

The room itself was fairly simple but clean.

The rooms were nice - not super luxurious, but nice, comfortable and clean, much nicer than rooms in other hotels that we have stayed in when in Rio.

Our deluxe room was very basic nothing special, clean and small table with chairs facing the ocean which was nice.

The breakfast is absolutely delicious; a buffet consisting of assorted fresh tropical fruits and juices, cereals, breads, pasteries, coldcuts, cheese, yogurt, milk and eggs (R22 per person) and is served in a room also overlooking the beach.
