But we loved being in Leblon, the location next to the beach (which I think wherever you go will be noisy) and the glorious views of beach and mountain.

Marina All suites contains all the criteria you need for a great stay in Rio de Janeiro: 1) Great location.

The location was excellent in the relatively quiet Leblon neighbourhood.

I recommend the hotel if you prefer to avoid big corporate-type of establishments and would rather catch a taxi to the fun district of Lapa than have the "fun" right underneath your window!

The rooms are very spacious and "chic"-attractive; bed was very comfortable.

Every suite has a bedroom and separate sitting room.

I stayed at Maria All Suites Hotel with my brother and a friend in a nice book hotel room overlooking the beach.

My husband and I stayed at Marina All Suites in a standard suite for 4 nights.

The room size and furnishings, beautiful bathrooms, hotel services, including set-rate car service and most importantly - the consistent, always above and beyond service and people at the Palace cannot be better.

The pool leaves a lot to be desired (more like a lap pool), but the bar/restaurant is a Rio hot spot.

The small cafe on the ground floor is a wonderful place to have breakfast and the food is good.

The hotel also features a small breakfast cafe which we love and is very popular.

On the second floor, overlooking the beach is one of Rio's most "hip" nightclub restaurants.

The breakfast was a simple nice European style - deli meats and pastry--eggs upon order.

The day concierge (George) as well as the other front desk staff as helpful as it could get.

The hotel is small enough that the staff are not overly stressed and therefore provide friendly, personal service.

The service was fantastic, breakfast was great and all the staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a good stay.

2) Great staff, from the front desk to the drivers to the housekeeping staff.

I noticed another reviewer mention that the gym was small and the pool was small.

I've been to the gym and the pool several times without bumping into another guest.

But there were a few things that we didn't love about the hotel: the pool on the top floor is nice but tiny; the fitness center is small as well, with only one treadmill; the breakfast (which was included) was pretty minimal.

The rooms are very spacious and clean, with modern furnishings and beautiful views of the sea and the beach of Leblon.

3) Clean refurbished rooms which are large for Rio de Janeiro.

We stayed there for a week in NOvember 05 and the suite was very comfortable, large, clean and modern.

The suites are clean modern and very spacious.
