Louis, at the front desk was very informative and understanding. The hotel is extremely well located opposite the Malecon and near to the best parts of Guayaquil

The location (right by the riverfront) and helpfulness of the proprietor in where to go to in the city, arranging for a haircut, changing our room to a better one when when we had ventilation issues.

The kitchen was being remodeled and hence no lunch/dinner during our stay. One of our rooms was quite dusty and had little ventilation, though when we pointed it out after one night, the manager upgraded us at no charge. Breakfast service was terribly slow (45 min to get toast + butter + tea/juice).

The thing that I enjoyed the most was that everything was convenient from shopping to eating to entertainment. The staff was very helpful and was willing to assist in any way possible I would definitely stay there again.

The individually themed rooms (ours was the 'ginger' room); the decor; the view of the malecon from our room; and the spaciousness of both the room and the common areas.

Pleasant young people at the desk were helpful in arranging transport to/from the airports.

Rooms are noisy and light enters while you want it to be dark to sleep. People made loud noise in hall at 2 AM and no one on staff did anything to quiet them down.

Great place! But you must be able to climb stairs with your suitcases. Great location across from the Malecon. We sat out on one of the darling little balconys in the evening. Adorable decor. Friendly staff. We hope to stay at the Manso again.

We had one night in Guayaquil on the way back from Galapagos, and we found the hotel to be very quirky and cute, the staff extremely friendly, and the vegetarian menu very welcome. The location is perfect, we were able to walk around the Malecon 2000, the Santa Ana hill and port area, the cathedral and the Iguana Park all in one day, and there is a lovely juice bar right downstairs.

The only inconvenience, and it was minor, was that there is no lift, so bring luggage that you can carry up a couple of flights of stairs.

The front desk staff was particularly friendly and helpful. Nice and relaxing lobby area. The location in town is obviously great!

The superior rooms are definitely not worth the extra price. They are big, but very noisy, as the main road is just below. I'd advise this hostel for its dorms, but not for the rooms, which are expensive.

Clean and beautiful room in a nice area of Guayaquil, $5 cab ride from the airport and great for a long layover

Location...room bedding and bathroom were all in excellent shape....the design of the rooms and large hallways was beautiful....

Expensive..as I ended up paying $20 more than the advertised price...breakfast was lousy...for the $5 price...and the way they served it was very disconnected...and had to spend 5 minutes trying to figure out where to sit and how to order...Coffee was atrocious...Didn't appreciate the chill out music...More like elevator music...

Room was dirty and very expensive, better off going to a nice hotel and pay a bit more. Smoking throughout the hotel made it hard to breath and noisy. Maybe as a backpackers it's ok, but don't bother paying for a double room.

high ceilings. Boutiquey, slightly bohemian feel. Nice idiosyncratic touches.

shared bathroom (though very clean). No external window in room.
