Majestic Salute

Compared to the other hotels of 3 and 4 stars we stayed in on our trip to Vietnam, this hotel doesn't really stand out other than for its location.

We loved the location in the heart of the Old Quarter --- you just step out the door and you're in the middle of this fascninating world of exotic sights, sounds and smells.

Helpful and the location to be great, not far from the hotel is the small central lake in the city.

When in Hanoi I try and stay at the Majestic Salute as the location is great and the staff has always been very nice and helpful in getting early morning taxis to the airport or trying to call people in Hanoi.

Neither the taxi driver nor the doorman could work out the street I had wrtiiten down.

Services: We have wonderful buffet breakfast with various dishes (western food and vietnamese food and diet food on the bancony restaurant to the street).

The restaurant provided a great breakfast and the evening meals were varied and there was something to appeal to all palates.

Freshly picked roses in the room when we arrived and a good breakfasts in the top floor restaurant.

The restaurant is nice and the breakfast has great variety.

We did not try the restaurant, as we had a good choice of local restaurants a few steps away.

The front desk staff seemed friendly enough but a request for a price list for laundry-service went un-attended-to -- despite several requests.

In addition the internet service was great in the lobby, the staff were friendly and the bathroom was quite clean.

Really the rooms are not so big but were always spotless and our things where always left where we put them.
