Magnolia Hotel Houston - 休斯敦

Great restaurants nearby and good location.

Great location for Astros game and very close to the rail line and restaurant/bars.

Great location for visiting downtown clients, the hotel lobby was nice and the staff were friendly.

The cabdriver on the way to the airport told us that the Hotel was famous for making guests wait for a cab ride while the staff tried to make a deal with a towncar driven by their friends, rather than hail or call a cab.

A few blocks from the GRB convention centre - walked in 15mins, $5 in a taxi.

The rooms were very nice - bed was extra-comfortable, bathroom well-appointed with large garden tub/shower, excellent toiletries, hair dryer.

A queen sized bed would have been vastly preferable, and it of course is what was advertised, so I don't think it was appropriate to put us in a room with double beds.

For the most part, every time has been fine: beds are great, the rooms are clean, nice furniture, lobby and lounge have a cool feel to them, nice excercise room, etc.

The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the bathroom's modern, clean, design is gorgeous.

The valets were fast, and they placed us in a standard room on floor 10 with a kind bed.

We also had appetizers and drinks at the hotel's bar/restaurant after the game and got great service.

Even though there are numerous restaurants suitable for all tastes just outside the front doors, you may never want to leave the second-floor Magnolia Club, which has a great bar menu (best calamari I've ever tasted).

Bar: Tres cool, pillows awesome and plus a really superb free continental breakfast - hot oatmeal.

The second floor has the "Magnolia Club" - where they have the bar and do happy hour, milk and cookies, and breakfast.

It wasn't until I was checking out and mentioned to the bellman that an on-site restaurant would be nice that I found out I could have eaten any of the three meals at the Magnolia Club.

Design was beautiful and service was excellent from the front desk.

I would say the shortfall is with the staff and their inability to service guests.

Rooftop pool and gym clean and maintained.

The hotel has a nice size fitness centers and a rooftop pool and hotub with beautiful views of the city.

We visited the fitness center and the pool area, which I thought was pretty small for the size of the hotel.

Free wired Internet in the room and wireless in the club area (where you have breakfast).

High speed wired internet (free) was excellent and never faltered during the three days I was there.

Easy check-in and out, immaculately clean rooms, and nice hot breakfast.

The rooms are clean and the free breakfast in the morning is fabulous as is the free happy hour.

There's a nice garden tub and shower (in one), and everything seemed very clean.

The rooms were very nice and extremely clean.

Pros: King Deluxe room was very clean and had plenty of space with work desk and single sofa.
