the only thing i enjoyed whilst being at this hotel was being at my cousins wedding.

i thought the way the staff dealt with all the room mix ups was awful and also they had no first aid eqiupment to help a very poorly gentleman. tthe whole situation was dealt with very badly.

The room was very clean and a good size , if tyour looking for a good nights sleep the bed was amazing. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere around the hotel and the cleanliness in general was excellent.

I emailed the hotel directly to find out about the spa facilities but still have heard nothing back from them! Fortunately this does reflect the customer service received at the hotel as it was excellent.

Lovely evening meals in restaurant and the bar staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area good.

Queuing for over half an hour for breakfast on Saturday with no explanation by staff as to why was very poor as was breakfast. A lot of unhappy guests. Bed in room very uncomfortable. Lack of information about the hotel and in particular spa facility and times restaurant would be open for, in hotle room.

          Location was very good

We were supposed to have free internet, I had to go every day and ask for bt tokens and they didnt have any!! When I asked it was like the receptionist was paying for it her self she said "they havnt delived any tokens" and that was it, so I had to sort it out my self with bt every day I was there. The same was when I came out my room one day and the receptionist was chatting toi the room girls.I Waited 30 mins for her to phone a taxi in the end I went to my room and used the net, she was still chatting away with no one on reception!! Nice location but staff need training!!

Please note we (my wife and I) were booked in to stay at the hotel on a Sunday through to and including Tuesday night. At the eleventh hour we telephoned the hotel to see if we could, in addition, be accomodated on the previous Thursday through to Saturday night giving the hotel two days notice. The reason for the late request was due to a change of plan on our behalf owing to my wife's disability. A stay of 6 nights in total.

Very dissapointed with our 1st night at a 4 star hotel room at £124-00 - the room basicall was appalling. A meeting with a senior member of staff in private saw the whole matter resloved in a very tactful and business manner. We were moved into a much better room and at the end of the day we enjoyed our stay. The staff could not have been more helpful or understanding. I would however question one of the female receptionists when speaking on the telephone who informed me that the room we originally occupied was one of the best rooms in the hotel when this was clearly not the case. I learnt later that that part of the hotel was awaiting renovation so why were we put in it at £124 per night

Excellent rooms. Lovely pool and gym with top class beauty treatments available. Handy location near golf clubs, Chester and The Wirral. Easy to access.

Excellent, young staff but there were obviously not enough staff as they were running around trying to make sure all was good. Communications in the hotel didn't seem to be quite up to speed.

Comfortable rooms, Friendly staff, good facilities and a nice quiet location

Coffee was vary variable in quality and some of the decor is starting to show its age. Not all spa facilities were working.

Nice surroundings and spacious comfortable rooms.

I noticed the receptionist was charging £150 to my card for a room rate of £90. I had to ask what it was for, I was not told it would be used to cover other charges made to my room before I challenged it. Felt they could have been more open. Also felt it was a bit cheeky of them.

A lovely stay in a local hotel. We were at a friends wedding and decided to stay over.

          Bar is extremely expensive.

Our family room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The leisure facilities were also of a high standard. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

The breakfast was very much below par and not what I would expect of a 4 star hotel, I understand the restaurant has a Rosette award, however it wouldn't be for the standard of food at breakfast!

The staff were all very pleasant. Beds extremely comfortable. Hotel in a beautiful quiet location. We would certainly return to this hotel.

Put in a twin room but told they would change it to a double - this didn't happen. Some of the furniture in room 101 only fit for the bin

booked this hotel as a friend was getting married nearby. did not know it was there and was very pleasently surprised, a beautiful hotel.

a courtesy car/bus into Chester centre would have saved me £30 taxi fare, but i am being picky now.

Poor service, poor restaurant, drunk barstaff. Overpriced.

The grounds were very beautiful and very well maintained, the bed very comfortable and the room clean. The thick thick black out curtains made sleeping very easy. The staff were friendly and very polite. It was easy to park and convenient for Chester and visiting Wales on a day trip.

I never found out if we were able to use the leisure club facilities-it just wasn't mentioned-perhaps it was at a cost. The food in the restaurant was very good-but we found nearly £5 for a bottle of water excessive as was nearly £5 for a small bottle of cider and we didn't appreciate being asked several times if we wanted wine-we didn't and felt a bit pressured because we hadn't purchased wine which looked pricey-but in comparison to the bottled water probably wasn't that expensive. Not something we wanted to repeat unfortunately. We found a fantastic newly opened re-furbished Inn just up the road-much better prices and the food and atmosphere were both fantastic.
