Macdonald Botley Park Hotel Southampton - 南开普敦

Don't, however, make the mistake of thinking it's in an accessible location - it's not, it's well outside Southampton.

Had an overnight stay at the Botley Park en route from the airport.

I had large ground floor room that was spotless with large bathroom that contained a bath and shower.

Rooms are spacious, beds are very comfy, nice bathroom and the service is what I expected it to be in a place like this.

What we got was exactly the same room as he had previously had, same size, bed etc.

Mineral water - which was also touted as an Executive room benefit - turned out to be free in all rooms.

Excellent room, well worth the upgrade with nice touches of robes, LCD tv, fruit, mineral water etc.

Friendly staff especially on the reception desk, good selection of basic bar food in golf bar served on lovely terrace plus restaurant good for breakfast.

In particular, the restaurant and bar areas.

It has everything you'd expect: decent rooms, swimming pool, decent bar and restaurant, good service.

Went for breakfast in the restaurant + asked for poached eggs + mushrooms.

We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was first class.

We ate in the resturant in the evening , the service was not slow as previously mention in other reviews, the staff where very attentive and the food superb.

Room service (after having to walk to the reception to get the menu as we'd not been left one in the room) was shockingly expensive not only was everything £3.

Breakfast was a mixture of help yourself and waiter service.

Another colleague of mine ordered room service + the waiter asked her which company she worked for.

NOTE this hotel no longer has a jacuzzi as closed last year, bit disappointing but the sauna, steam and swimming pool good.

The hotel has many leisure facilities (Squash / gym / sauna / swimming etc) as well as a golf course.

The gym is superb and there is a nice swimming pool (although this is small).

Was very impressed with the bedroom which was clean and comfortable and provided me with a peaceful night's sleep.

The room was very nice and absolutely spotless.

We where upgraded to a executive room, that was very spacious and clean and modern.
