I had the most amazing experience at Macaw Lodge. The main lodge was a stunning centerpiece in the middle of the jungle, offering a perfect spot to observe wildlife while enjoying shelter from the rain or sun. I loved the environmentally friendly setup, which added to the charm of the place. The food, although limited in choices, was always delicious and healthy. The trails in the grounds were fantastic, with a beautiful waterfall and an abundance of unique insects and birds. Despite the bumpy ride to get there, it was well worth it for the secluded and untouched atmosphere. I highly recommend this hidden gem in the jungle.

For the money we paid, the value at Macaw Lodge was exceptional. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the location was breathtaking with stunning views of misty mountains and the sounds of the jungle. The staff treated us like royalty, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
The breakfast menu could be improved with a wider selection of options.

The setting is stunning, surrounded by lush grounds and a forest trail leading to a waterfall. The food is exceptional, with most ingredients grown on-site. The lodges offer seclusion and great views, and the birdlife is impressive, including hummingbirds and toucans. The natural ambiance is enhanced by the incredible sound of crickets. Access to the lodges involves leaving heavy baggage in the car for conservation purposes.

The location of the lodge, nestled in a beautiful clearing surrounded by acres of land, offers a serene and picturesque setting. The landscape is adorned with stunning man-made ponds that attract a variety of wildlife, providing an amazing sight and sound experience. Guests can enjoy the view from their bungalow's veranda, immersing themselves in the colors and sounds of the jungle.
The lack of bug-proofing in the bungalow's upper walls prevents guests from keeping the lights on after dark, making reading in bed impossible.

I loved waking up to the stunning views of the forest and hills from my comfortable cabin. The food was fresh and delicious, and I enjoyed dining with a beautiful view of the lake and gardens. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and I had a fantastic bird watching tour with Hugo. The bird watching experience was truly amazing. The lodge is set in a remote and beautiful location, surrounded by rainforest and hills, creating a sense of tranquility and immersion in nature. I highly recommend this hotel for a unique and unforgettable stay.

I recently spent a delightful week at Macaw Lodge in Carara. The natural surroundings were stunning, with beautifully maintained landscaping blending seamlessly with the environment. The open-air eating area offered breathtaking views of the serene lake while enjoying delicious freshly prepared meals. The property manager, Meghan, and her staff were charming and positive, ensuring a memorable stay. The variety of bird species and wildlife was unparalleled, making it a nature lover's paradise. The on-site ponds and waterfalls added to the enchanting atmosphere. The 4x4 vehicle requirement was well worth it for this hidden gem.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The lodge is located in a beautiful mountainous area, offering stunning views of misty mountains from the bungalow balconies. The main building overlooks a pond teeming with bird life, providing a peaceful and picturesque setting. Guests can enjoy organic and delicious meals made from ingredients grown on the property. there are trails and a waterfall for guests to explore.
Noise from downstairs activities and workers' weep whip can be disturbing for those seeking a quiet retreat.

The grounds were stunning with beautiful botanical gardens and an abundance of bird life. The eco-friendly setup, although lacking electricity in the rooms, provided hot water and comfortable beds. The food was delicious and organic, with fresh fruits, juices, and vegetables raised on site. The open-air dining area overlooking the water was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy meals.
The location of the lodge required a long and bumpy drive, which could be inconvenient for some guests. The lack of guides on staff meant that arranging hikes had to be done in advance.

We absolutely loved this place! The staff was more than helpful. The cuisine was excellent. The lodge is beautifully set. There are trails and a waterfall where you can enjoy a cool bath. Best wildlife we saw in Costa Rica. You need a 4x4 vehicle to reach the lodge, but it is worth the drive! Our favourite accomodation in CR.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

I recently had an amazing stay at a beautiful property in the mountains. The lodge, Macaw Lodge, was absolutely stunning. The property has been transformed from bare clear cut land into a thriving ecosystem for various animal species. I was blown away by the number of birds I saw during my stay. The main building overlooks ponds that attract a diverse array of wildlife. Breakfast at the lodge felt like a scene from a nature documentary, with birds all around. The food was outstanding, with many ingredients grown on the property. The meals were delicious, and I especially loved the rice and gallo pinto. I stayed in a perfect bungalow with a balcony that provided breathtaking views of misty mountains and the sounds of the jungle. It was the perfect place to find peace and tranquility after staying at a busy all-inclusive resort. The lodge also has trails and a waterfall, which added to the experience. I even had the chance to climb the waterfall. I had an unforgettable time at Macaw Lodge and I can't wait to visit again.
Nothing, it was perfect! 👌

Felt truly spoilt, no complaint.
