Furthermore the one-bedroom apartment I stayed in was spacious.

A nice historical building and the one-bedroom apartment was great.

There was no information either in my room nor offered on arrival on facilities in the building/maps etc; various basic items were missing from the apartment (e.

The room is really an apartment with full kitchen, like a time share unit, ready to be lived in for any length of time.

It is within walking distance from just about everything - shopping, dining, downtown, the bridge where you can walk over to museums, cultural attractions or catch a cruise to Lone Pine Sanctuary to see animals.

Particularly useful if you want to cook some of your own meals to cut travel costs or if you want to just have the ease and convenience of a refrigerator and home away from home for an extended stay.

However, poor service and unhelpful staff really let the place down.

Location was great, for an extra $10 a day we parked our car in the hotel was well worth and staff were more than happy to meet any of our needs.

Overall, I feel that MacArthur Chambers fails to provide a service in line with its cost, and I would not recommend it other than for a very short stay.

There is a very pleasant pool on the top floor, a small gym, and honorary membership of the Tattersalls club in a facing building, a good experience of the "old school" way of dining.
