Editorial review:

The amazing staff will absolutely spoil you at this magical country inn dating back to the 16th century. Charles I and Oliver Cromwell have stayed here. There are some rooms in the old sections and more modern sections that have beautiful four-poster beds with amazing linens. The grounds are stunning and the spa is great.

The excellent 4-star Lygon Arms is set in a resort area minutes away from Court Barn, Evesham Arts Centre and St. James' Church. The hotel opened in 1600 and since then remains an example of traditional architecture in Broadway .

Its location steps away from a train station allows to see a tower, museums and a cathedral in Broadway . The property is 100m away from Broadway Playground, John Noott Galleries and Gordon Russell Design Museum.

The hotel offers great location close to marshes and an orchard.

Fast access to Gloucestershire airport within 30km is provided.

The hotel offers 75 stylish rooms equipped with a minibar, a fireplace, coffee/tea making facilities, a laptop-size safe and Wi-Fi and featuring breathtaking views over the hills. They also have private bathrooms with complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant each morning. The intimate restaurant serves contemporary meals in a contemporary atmosphere. The relaxing bar serves a selection of refreshments.

Guests can make use of a wake up service, an ironing service and wedding services as well as a barber shop, a beauty salon and a garage.

Guests will enjoy a sauna, a solarium and a hot tub on-site. The fitness center features a gym and fitness classes.

The excellent location of the hotel and it's olde worlde charm. The staff were particularly welcoming and helpful.

Some of the bedrooms needed refurbishment and there was inconsistency in what they contained eg. in the quality of television within the rooms.

Big and traditional room, friendly staff, great spa. Broadway is a lovely place to visit as well. The breakfast was great. We went for a special occasion and the hotle made it for us!

Drinks from the bar were well over priced - only a minor issue though as the hotel was great and there are many cheaper pubs/restaurants within a very short walk.

Like the fact that it was very central, with free car parking, and the use of the swimming pool.

Thought the food for dinner was a tad on the expensive side, but then it is a big hotel.

          Perfect location and beautiful architecture.

Dinner in the fine dining restaurant was overpriced for pretty ordinary fare. Our room was OK but no better than that.

a great place for a relaxing weekend

Amazed for a 4 star hotel that there was no wi fi internet available and the television channels offered were very disappointing certainly would not use the hotel for any business purpose

This was our return to the hotel since our honeymoon 46 years ago. Thought the hotel was still good. We extended our stay to 3 nights. Staff and service was excellent.

Did not think the food was as good as it could have been. Would prefer an a la carte menu to a table d'hote menu

Position in centre of Broadway excellent for our horse riding stables. good that dvd's available in room

Disappointing that card for breakfast not collected so I had to ring up in the morning to get breakfast sent up. Lucky I woke up otherwise we would have been really late. Had to ring up again as there was no milk on the tray. Fan in the bathroom really noisy and went on for a long time once the light was switched off. Food in the brasserie uninspiring. Overall experience disappointing given the reputation of the hotel.

The staff were good at their jobs and made you welcome, the hotel is oldy world and that is what I enjoy

Their was a noise problem with the extracters on the roof of one off the ajoining buildings was running most of the time of our one night stay.

We loved the accurate old feel of the LA. We thought the look and feel of it were breathtaking and a wonderful change from a standard urban, chain high end hotel.

Our only complaint was about the music piped into the lovely dining room. We really got our fill of rather popy 50's era recorded music in inns and hotels in the English countryside. Often heard the same tracks at dinner and breakfast. We thought that the space merited something less campy. A carefully selected range of classical music played at background volume would have been lovely.

Service was excellent. All the staff were attentive, helpful and well trained. Function (marriage ceremony) food was first rate.

The hotel is overpriced and over-rated. At these rates it should be a memorable experience - it wasn'T. Accommodation was adequate but underwhelming as was breakfast. It is trading on its fabulous Cotswolds location but it needs to raise its game.

Very picturesque town, and old inn is charming.

the spa (pool, wet sauna) are a little old and crummy. Not kept up as nicely as they could.

          The quality of everything

As a mature couple we had problems with getting into the shower locatedin the bath due to the height of the bath from the floor it was therefore impossible for my wife to use.
