A very very good hotel, friendly service and the price was low we had a large well-furnished room.
It is, however, a beautiful older hotel that, for the price, you really can't beat.
I was very comfortable there and the prices were very modest with none of the stream of hidden charges I've heard about at other hotels.
Despite these problems, the hotel is rated above several luxury American chain hotels (which cost 3 to 4 times more), perhaps because reviewers tend to evaluate it on its own merits rather than comparing it to big chain hotels back home.
The location is great and the hotel is an old house in a quiet street.
The location couldn't have been better and good value- all made us feel quite comfortable there.
Hotel location is good, the building is very welcoming and comfortable, rates are very reasonable.
They organised a taxi from the airport, you pay a little more than a journey of that distance would cost normally.
They charged a fixed $10 which includes the time the taxi driver waits around if you are delayed in the airport etc, in my case it took around an hour to get through customs and immigration.
2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms a small kitchen and sitting room, beautifuly furnished,huge comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, all with old wooden furnitureand lovely furnishings.
We paid $70 a night for a suite with two bedrooms and tile bath upstairs, and a sitting room and kitchenette on the main floor.
The rooms are comfortable, they haven't modernised the bathrooms but they were clean and worked.
The staff are friendly and the rooms are well appointed as are the bathrooms.

Also included was bottled water and a free American-style breakfast (anything we wanted to order) each morning in the hotel's restaurant.
We walked to most places in Quito as the hotel is on the edge of La Mariscal where the main shops and restaurants are to be found.
We were disappointed that they no longer offered lunch but the breakfasts were good, a mix of European and US with eggs, meat, coffee, bread etc.
It's tucked away in a quiet street right in the centre of town and a short walk from parks, restaurants and shops.
The Internet was free and the restaurant provided good food.
Staff at the hotel were magnificent, the front desk person checked us in was friendly and the rooms were clean.
The front desk manager said that the hotel was sorry for the losses.
The atmosphere was lovely and the staff was very friendly.
There is no elevator, and there is no one outside to open doors for you.
Stayed here 2 nights, the lobby interesting , old with all kinds of paintings and iron.
The hotel is an old house in a quiet street, almost hidden behind the trees in its front garden which provide shade for the building so it was lovely and cool.
Furthermore the Wi-Fi connection is free.
Additionally rooms were clean, the breakfast was nice.
My room was comfortable and clean, the food was good and the owners looked after me very well.

Large colonial buildings, clean rooms lobby and the staff were very accomodating.
We arrived at the hotel after midnight, but were welcomed and shown to our room, which was large, clean and comfortable.
