Lord Elgin Hotel Ottawa - 渥太華

Excellent location to most attractions and hotel well located in center of town.

The location was excellent, as the hotel is situated only a few blocks from the parliament building, across the street from Rideau Center (shopping), and within reasonable walking distance from many restaurants and cafes.

Great location and the hotel is very well located.

When we arrived, we took an airport shuttle to the hotel ($8 per person), but one of the hotel staff told us that a cab would have been far cheaper and that we should opt for a taxi rather than a shuttle when we departed.

Driving in from the airport was under 20 minutes and not difficult at all.

Our room, facing on to Elgin Street, was of an ideal size with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed, as we were travelling with our daughters, aged 12 and 9, and tea/coffee making facilities were also available.

We mentioned we would unexpectedly need a rollaway bed and extra towels for the first night of our stay; before the bellman had left our room, maintenance showed up with the bed, and housekeeping with two fresh sets of towels.

You couldn't ask for a cleaner room, excellent bathroom and beds to die for.

The room itself was fine and good value at $169 Canadian and the bed was perfectly good.

Upon arrival, we went to our room to find a small room with a king size bed but nothing fancy.

We ate breakfast on Saturday and dinner on Sunday in Byward market at a restaurant called Vittoria - DELISCIOUS!

Breakfast in the restaurant was good too.

Try other restaurants like "big daddy" One outstanding experience was the "Le Moulin de Provence", a French Bakery with an outstanding selection next to the Fish Market restaurant.

The hotel restaurant was excellent for breakfast and good value.

Front desk were very cordial and informative, gave me a beautiful large king room, breakfast in the restaurant was good too.

The location was excellent, the staff in the hotel were always helpful and courteous, thanks to the front desk lady was very accomodating.

Excellent location for visit to Ottawa, the hotel is willing to match the room rates and the front desk staff are very accommodating.

The staff very accommodating to my schedule, particularly the concierge are very courteous and all the rooms have been recently renovated.

The hotel has a nice fitness centre with a pool and hot tub.

The swimming pool was on the small side but we had it to ourselves on the morning that we did make use of it, and the jacuzzi.

The pool and gym were also accessed by a key card.

My main complaint is that according to the website "Guests enjoy high speed internet access", which is true, provided that they shell out an additional $10.

The rooms are relatively spacious and clean.

The rooms where so clean you could eat off the floor.

The staff are excellent and the rooms so clean you could eat off the floor.

Service was fabulous and the room was clean.

Rooms are clean and comfortable, the swimming pool is nice.
