Linden Row Inn Richmond - 里士满

Hotel is located in a great location and we booked a room at the historic Linden Row Inn.

The location is excellent and the place has a kind of charm could be described.

If you tired of business-looking hotel, sterile lobbies and neon lights, then this hotel is for you: great location, a fountain in the backyard and when inside, you are far away from the rest of the world!

My husband was traveling and arriving at the Richmond Airport late on a Wednesday night.

At night, there is a bus stop on Grace Street, about a block away from the Linden Row, which appears to be frequented by loiterers and hustlers.

I had a nice little desk, at least two closets, two beds, and so much room I almost got my exercise by walking from my bed to the bathroom.

Our only gripes were the bed (old & springy), the burned out light in the bathroom & the clogged bathtub drain.

There was one small 15inch tv in the bedroom that was barely visibile from the bed, no fridge, and broken down mismatched furniture.

Both my rooms were just fine -- newly remodeled bathrooms, reasonably comfortable beds, DSL internet.

Our 'garden room' was in this setting, which was fine, but the room itself was very small, with a minimum-sized double bed.

However, when we got there, the restaurant and bar was no longer operational and the shuttle didn't run from 10AM to 4PM (not good for those who need to get lunch or wanted to sight-see).

The location is good, a great small diner type restaurant called Perly's is great for a quick nearby breakfast and this is I liked most about this place: the people.

A block further west on Grace is the Bar Code--one of the places the panhandler told me about--a bar/restaurant frequented almost exclusively by men.

At the time I made the block, there was also a restaurant and bar on premises which was convenient as there is not a lot within walking distance.

The continental breakfast was fine and the atmosphere in the their dining room was very gracious, as was the lounge area with its active fireplace and plush furnishings.

Hotel staff was friendly and the service was amazing.

Richmond offers a lot the Linden Row Inn is the perfect home base, the rates are extremely reasonable and service very friendly at the front desk.

Service was okay, but staff could benefit from a customer service class.

Besides the hotel offers free shuttle service, so you can dropped off and picked up without you having to worry about parking.

Accessible by elevator and long curtains.

One HUGE plus is access to the YMCA gym next door.

My only complaint was you had to be in the front parlor to get the wireless internet.

Accessible only through the lobby--thus feels safe, excellent staff and our room in the "cottage" was quaint simple very clean.

I received a room complimentary room upgrade (from 1 double in a carriage house to 2 doubles in the main building) and my room was spacious, light, and clean.

All wrapped in a lovely historical setting of old brick rowhouses, friendly staff and our room was clean.

Our room on the ground floor was spacious, clean, quiet and elegantly furnished.
