This hotel was a decent stay for the Price we payed, the staff was very nice and helpful, the best part was that you can fit 5 people in a room here.
As i walked down the Boulevard de strasbourg, i was taken a back by how down trodden the area was, the money that we had paid for this hotel led me to belive we would be staying somewhere more "upmarket".
My advice is "pay the extra few euros and stay at a decent hotel".
We had a good view from our windows in the 5th floor, the location of the hotel was ideal for people would like to grab a hotel.
Had this hotel been in another location, I would stay there in a heartbeat.
Its location: is very easy to reach anything in Paris, the room is nice for 2 people.
The metro stations are very close - Chateau D'eau and Gard de l'est.
With Metro and Rail stations within 5 minutes, it was convenient to the rest of Paris.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the bathroom was poorly equipped - there was a shower in the bath but nowhere to hook it while you showered.
When we got to our room we found that the bathroom was tiny, only big enough for one person at a time.
The room was pretty spacious and we had a nice little balcony, however the beds were a bit uncomfortable the worst part being that there weren't really pillows.
They had these pilliows that were round and wrapped in the the bottom sheet attached to the bed.
The bathroom tub was disgusting as the sink was plugged with hair and whatever came from previous guests.
The staff could have politely moved people on who were obviously finished breakfast and just staring at the telly but they don't care too much if people are missing out on their food.
Also there is a turkish restaurant down the street on the right where the people were so friendly, the food is cheap, and it tastes great!
I explored the neighborhood and found nothing but rows and rows of hair saloons specializing on afro hairstyle, a pakistani restaurant, dirty clubs, and lots of small middle-eastern grocery shops.
Staff efficient breakfast served quickly.
The breakfast in the morning left a lot to be desired.
I needed for work, having a place like this to return to was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I found that the kitchen staff didn't really understand French so I simply smiled and often brought my dishes back to them.
This seemed to go far because we never had to wait long for service in the morning.
The staff were antagonistic and lazy, and as a londoner, this seedy area was a little too much reality for me.
If you are not looking for frills and turn down service, this hotel should work for you.
The staff at the hotel is a little cold and i found that they avoided us a bit.
The staff were not interested in in helping you - it was an effort to serve you.
Services/ Next to the metro/ Clean enough/ Good choice for low budget travelers and simple family room.
Our room was larger than anticipated and quite clean.
In saying all this, at least the rooms were clean and it's close to 3 stations but i'm sure there are nicer places for around the same price.
