The cheese and wine was a great way to sit and relax before going out of an evening.

The rooms were small, but fine for what we wanted.

Relaxed welcoming atmosphere. All staff extremely accomodating and helpful. Wine, cheese and nibbles from 5-8pm lovely idea. Chance to chat with other guests or just relax after pounding the streets. Also very pleasant buffet breakfast which means do not have to go out and search for suitable place.

        Rather noisy air conditioning.

Staff was courteous and accomodating. Location can't be beat. The rooftop bar is perfect - cozy, relaxing and not loud. Breakfast room/lounge is well-equipped with coffee/tea/snacks 24 hours/day. Bathrooms are a generous size - especially for Manhattan. Very reasonable pricing - definitely worth it!

As good as it gets. Attention to every small detail.

The "Petite Full" rooms are located just across from the elevator which omits a ringing sound when reaching the floor. Can serve as unordered wakeup call.

friendly and helpful staff. Very Clean with everything in working order. Nice breakfast with excellent staff. Liked the theme of the hotel with books everywhere. The location was also very good.

The lift was often a long wait but the stairs, which I used, were very well maintained and full of light.

A very speical hotel. The staff was very helpful. The room was spacious and clean. It was very nice to spend time in the reading room, among shelves with many books.

For such high price, one could expect more impressive breakfest.

Hotel clerk arranged limo to the airport told us it was $80 inclusive of all tolls taxes etc] when we arrived at the airport the driver demanded $90.80... Bad ending to a great stay...

We were delighted to find the Library Hotel. The staff, facility, location & amenities were superb. Not only was it a very good value with the continental breakfast & wine/cheese reception, but this is just the perfect boutique hotel we have been looking for to call our "own" on our trips to nyc each year!

        Absolutely no complaints!

It was short but the breakfast was good and staff very pleasant

I booked this hotel for 5 nights for my partners 50th birthday trip. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. The room was tiny and when I asked to upgrade to. Suite they were small to. I stayed 1 night and checked out. We got a huge suite at the Waldorf Astoria for 25 dollars a night more with bedroom 2 bathrooms and lounge. This place is massively overpriced.

The staff were brilliant - helping me in advance of our trip to book restaurants and giving us tips. The cleanliness of the room can't be faltered, and it was very quiet. The 5-8pm complimentary wine and cheese reception is a master stroke and helps to make this hotel an appealing choice. Great access to 5th Avenue, Times Sq, Grand Central Station, the Empire States building etc.

Our room was on the petite side, but I think that is to be expected on New York. Breakfast could be a crowded affair, with not enough chairs to accommodate everybody. There were extra seats upstairs, but that did involve carrying your food upstairs in the lift, and made going back for seconds more of an effort!

We stayed 3 nights at the Library Hotel in April 2011 and found it a very pleasurable experience. It is very convenient for shopping, sight seeing and the bus from Newark airport stops almost outside the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our trip and the restaurant adjoining the hotel had a great atmosphere with good food. Our room was an ok size for a city hotel and comfortably furnished. A nice touch was the universal adapter plug in the wall. The reading room where the buffet breakfast was served was great as coffee and tea were available throughout the day with biscuits and small pastries. All in all a lovely hotel, great staff and a fabulous location.

We loved it. An excellent location right in the centre of midtown Manhattan. Only a few minutes walk from all major attractions/transport – just check out Google maps & you’ll see for yourself. The hotel is very small (60 rooms) & has a really relaxed / calm atmosphere. Clientele were a combination of tourists + some “arty” type business travellers. The average age was in the 35-65 bracket. Well appointed rooms & excellent staff. Cheese & wine + continental breakfast were very good - especially by US standards. Having access to free tea / coffee & snacks all day was a nice touch. Roof top garden was a bonus on sunny days. Only downside was that we spent so much time sightseeing, we barely spent 8 hours/night in the hotel.

The hotel rooms are small by European standards, but that's not unusual for NY. Wi-Fi reception was sporadic at best in rooms (we were on 11th floor), although excellent in lobby/dining room. It’s hard to fault the hotel, although it is expensive by European standards when you consider the European equivalent would probably have much larger room & a pool / recreation centre.

Location relative to several destinations within Manhattan to include the theaters, museums and restaurants.

Rooms were small but that is expected in NY. I would have prefered a larger breakfast than continental.
