This is very much a budget quality hotel at not so budget prices.
For the price we paid and the claims heard about this hotel we were extremely disappointed.
The location in Townsville was very good, our stay was great and our room also had a delightful view of a building site.
Central city location right on the Mall and would be good shopping in town.
Good location and had a pleasant smell you dont find in a lot of hotels.
While the location of this hotel is fairly good, don't be fooled by the star rating.
We had hardly any sleep as the bed was so uncomfortable.
Prior to arrival, I had requested a room in a quiet location but when I arrived I found my room was next to a very noisy air conditioning unit outside the window.
The paint was peeling off the walls, with a terrible odor of mould because the window does not open and there is no fan in the bathroom.
The sheets and towels were the only clean part of the whole room.
I would not stay at this Hotel again because it is clearly geared for business travellers and everywhere STANK of cigarette smoke; it even permeated the suite to the point where I had to open windows.
We also ordered 'tropical fruit' from the breakfast menu which turned out to be half a dry orange and watermelon (lots of it - which I am allergic to) and melon, melon and more melon.
The morning afterwards we went down to get breakfast, the tables where dirty, staff unfriendly and a lady was mopping around people trying the get breakfast.
Must say the food presentation was of a high standard.
The food wasn’t good either and they kept running out of food and not replacing it.
Good value for money, the staff at the reception desk were very diligent in assisting my travelling party and receptionists were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was in a convenient location - walking distance to, front desk staff were polite and the rooms were a decent size.

The staff were friendly and the water pressure in the shower was very strong.
Having said that the staff were excellent, they were courteuous and polite at all times, nothing was too much effort for them.
They were the highlight in our stay*= A huge thank you to all of them from housekeeping to the front desk.
The room was clean, we also dined in the restaraunt & the meal took a to come out was well worth the wait.
