Le Terrazze Sorrento - 索伦托

The wiev it's breathtaking,the staff it's absolutely fantastic and the location of the place give you the option to have nice walks in the nature and in the same time you have everythink you need around you.

Good location out of town and the view from the hotel is just breathtaking.

Staying in one place reduces the stress of having to pack, travel and get acquainted with a new location.

Do not catch a taxi from the airport to the hotel- one other guest was charged 150 euro for a taxi from the rank- that's right- £100 or US$140!

It is not far up (about 5 kms), and easily accessible by car (which we had), bus or taxi.

We stayed in a studio-styled appartment which was self-contained in one reasonably sized room and bathroom (shower, toilet, sink, bidet).

Very comfortable bed pleasant staff beautifull view kitchen facilities, i really liked this hotel and the rooms were good value for money.

The bathroom was also a shame: the door did not fit, so it did not close well; the shower's screen was broken (no bath), the room was tiny, no shelf to put your bathroom items, the fan was noisy and hardly worked, etc, etc.

But, the shabby room we were given was below the standard I expected for a three-star hotel, and, when you go to bed - the views of the coast don't help.

The only down side i would say is that the bedroom walls are very thin so the noise from the adjoining rooms at night were a bit irritating.

There is no restaurant at the hotel (breakfast room only), but about 1 km down the hill is the Don Pedro restaurant where we had a quite memorial meal one evening.

There are two restaurants located near the hotel that pick up guests of the hotel, take them to the restaurant and bring them back once they have finished their meal.

As a fairly hearty eater I would not criticise the breakfasts which are good continental style and there are many reasonably priced pizzerias/restaurants in the area.

On the up side, the hotel has an arrangement with other local restaurants ('Don Pedro' & a local agriturisimo farm) where they can arrange for you to be collected and dropped back by the restaurant's courtesy car for dinner.

The facilities of the hotel include a nice breakfast room, small reception area, terrace seating, a nice pool and a small pool snack bar.

The maid service was probably the best we have had at any hotel and staff were very helpful.

A regular bus service serves the area (we were supplied with a schedule at the reception).

The Staff: the owner and his family was fantastic- very very helpful.

As the ticket, available from the hotel's reception, only cost 1 euro each way per person, it was a cheap way of getting down.

There is car parking if you want more flexibility than the bus gives you & we hired a scooter for one day, which was a fantastic (and reasonable) way to go along the coast.

We chose this hotel for our four day stay in Sorrento as it had parking, use of the swimming pool at the hotel next door and excellent views.

Be sure to obtain a copy of the bus schedule and you can probably just leave your car at the hotel (parking is tight, but acceptable).

Coming back from a trip out or, on sunny days a lazy spell by the pool, to a spotless room with clean linen etc is a real pleasure.

After the long journey we were shown to a big comfortable clean room.

Our 4-person apartment was spacious and clean, breakfast was great.

The view is great, except for a young guy at reception very unprofessional and rooms are very clean.

Concerning the room, with the exception of the tile floor needing a better washing, the room and kitchen were clean.
