A very central location, close to old town right on the river and le Phenix Hotel is well located.
Centrally located in old Lyon, making very convenient to check train schedules for day trips and the location of the hotel is excellent.
The location is ideal, close to old town and just in the older part of Lyon.
Most major attractions can be reached on foot from the hotel which fronts on the river.
It is easy and quick to get to the hotel from the train station - from the sncf Lyon Perrache station, take the number 31 bus which stops directly in front of the hotel (St Paul stop) - a ten minute bus ride.
It had a sitting area consisting of a small sofa, two chairs, three tables, television, refrigerator and a large, clean bathroom downstairs and a bedroom with a comfortable king sized bed, and two nightstands upstairs.
The bedroom was like an attic room witha sloping roof, furnished simply with a double bed and 2 bedside tables.
Friendly and efficient staff, comfy bed, near zillions of restaurants.
Le Phenix was shabby, amenities weren't working, our requested and confirmed king size bed did not materialise and the staff appeared to be disinterested.
Unusual coloured bathroom suite ( Heinz cream of Tomato Soup red!
We didn't have breakfast as there are a couple of lovely bakeries ten minutes away in Vieux Lyon - these are cheaper.
After returning from breakfast at around 11.
The hotel is located less than a two minute walk from Vieux Lyon historic area and many nice restaurants.
This hotel is easy to reach by public transport and well located - it takes a couple of minutes to walk to Vieux Lyon, and there are a couple of bars and a supermarket nearby.
Moreover the front desk/concierge is helpful and welcoming, the room is in good size for staying a couple of days.
Great Location, the hotel car park was full even I reserved a spot the night before and the reception was warm and friendly.
Close to the old city and the hotel staff are friendly.
We buzzed constantly for at least 5 minutes before a receptionist returned to the desk and let us in.
The staff was very professional; however, a working knowledge of French is helpful when dealing with them.
There's parking -for a fee - if you come by car.
The old city is at your feet, usually don't bother writing reviews of the many forgetable hotels and the free internet is a big plus.
Location is perfect, we liked that the hotel is very close to the city and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the bathroom was clean.
The desk staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
One positive was that the room had a safe and was clean.
Additionally room was very clean, breakfast was served in the veranda was also nice.
