Le Meridien Bora Bora

It is situated on the coral ring that surrounds the island in a truly unique location with wonderful views of the mountain.

One huge recommendation for all in the island enjoy their coffee in the morning, the location is of course beautiful and the setting of Le Tipanie is very romantic by the side of the lagoon.

The window over the ocean was very big, as location was good and our entire stay was perfect in every way.

The Sheraton there, near the airport, is a perfect overnight choice.

When you arrive to the Bora Bora airport, a boat is waiting for you and takes you directly to the hotel, it's fun a and it's a pleasure.

On our first visit we stayed in one of the over-water bungalows which was great as our children were 8 and 9 at the time and we could all comfortably fit in to this room with a rollaway bed and the sofa accommodating the children.

It was large enough, with a romantic bed, glass flooring in the center, as well as a large shower and adaquate bathtub.

The rooms looks fine at first, but soon you realize that the amnities, shower tub, toilet are pretty old.

The bed is not really comfortable and the TV is old.

Part of the floor is glass with lights on at night to attract the fish and there are mosquito nets over the bed (for decor reasons).

The restaurant was very good espacially the à la carte food and the breakfast.

The Te Ave restaurant by the pool offers pasta (circa USD 20), which was a much-needed respite from all the French-inspired haute cuisine we ate the rest of the time.

The property has a lovely bar – perfect for watching sunsets, amazing cuisine and a great waiter.

During this time, we were either at the restaurant, having breakfast, or the other side of the lagoon which provided more shade.

Upon arriving at the resort, a hotel employee gave us a tour of the grounds, explained all the amenities and restaurant options available, and served us a delicious Mai-Tai at the Miki Miki Bar which has one of the best views of Mt.

This hotel had a REALLY nice beach area, the staff were very friendly and room service was wonderful as well.

Views were great, the service was of the same high standard throughout the hotel restaurants and staff were all very friendly.

The only other comment we would make is that although there is no real “spa” at the resort apparently plans are under way to convert the area by the turtle nursery to a proper gym and spa area.

In case you didn’t realize – Le Meridien is on a separate island and a boat will shuttle you back and forth.

While we were there, we spent our days in the lagoon and by the pool, both of which were great.

Good thing brought our own laptop with us, the wi-fi is free too.

Also, wireless Internet access was available in the main areas of the hotel, at no extra charge.

The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, the buffet breakfast was nice.

This place is the most beautiful spot on earth and the rooms are very cosy and clean.

It's clear that the rooms are of Polynesian influence so we're not talking the latest hip hotel here.

What is very clear, however (and not subject to opinion) is that the rooms are smaller than at the St Regis and the IC Thalasso.

Of the five days we spent there, we had to call housekeeping twice to come and clean our room.
