Lato Hotel Heraklion - 伊拉克利翁

We chose this hotel for its location being close to the ferry terminal, bus station, the harbour and the centre of town.

Good location - close to the bus station, and on a little hill so nice views of the harbor front.

The location was wonderful -- a short walk to the Archeology Museum, close to the bus stop for Knossos and points east, very convient to the harbor and the center of town.

They were super with directions to city attractions, explaining the bus system, calling for taxi when we needed one.

We took the bus in and made the mistake of taking a cab when it was definitely walkable from the bus station.

It was an absolutely lovely suite, with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower/toilet, large living room with CD player and super-comfortable bedroom (didn’t like the animal skin rug, but you can’t have it all).

On looking at the tariff sheet on the back of the door - it became evident through a floor plan of all the rooms that our room was originally designed to be a single and it's obvious that greed was behind the decision to cram a double bed in.

Small rooms are to be expected in Europe, and that isn't necessarily a detraction, but our room was so small, and the bed placed right next to the wall, in order to get into the bed, one person had to climb over the other!

The extra money invested in a splurge for a suite was w-e-l-l worth it - it felt so good being in bed, knowing if one felt like it, one could just go out in the adjoining room and have this amazing view.

Both of the restaurants are wonderful (especially the new stylish one) and the breakfast bar is the best I've seen in Greece.

The food in both restaurants was very tasty and the breakfast buffet one of the best we've ever experienced at a hotel.

There is a restaurant on the lobby level and a small roof deck restaurant that appeared to have high prices -- we did not eat at the restaurants in the hotel.

Rooms quite cosy are well equipped and clean, wonderful roof top restaurant/bar.

The hotel has a small friendly feel to it, their is nice bar and the restaurant is good,.

The hotel was modern, the staff was always nice and the concierge took great car in parking your car for you.

The front desk staff all spoke wonderful English and were consistently friendly, pleasant and helpful.

The bellman and front desk staff were attentively awaiting every arrival.

Small spa with steam room and gym unexpected for a hotel of this size.

The rooftop garden had a view of the harbor, the lobby bars were nice and the service was good.

The hotel has a tiny parking area and takes charge of finding close by street parking for your car if their small lot is full.

Our room was extradoridinarly clean and fresh and the housekeepers well trained to place the personal items exactly in the right locations.

We stayed in a superior queen room which was very clean and modern, portraying the boutique feel.
