  The staff was very nice in checking us in, calling for taxis and making suggestions for activities.

  The view was nice, however, the hotel itself seemed a bit overpriced and run down. The room, however, was a disaster (see photo). The floor-to-ceiling pink roses were atrocious, the bed was hard as a rock and the shower floor was slippery polished marble, almost resulting in disaster. The view was pretty nice, but if you are not in a room with a view, all you are left to look at is the horrible decor (apparently they also have green and blue rooms, not sure if a color change would have helped).

  We called the day before we arrived in Ushuaia to reserve a triple room at this hotel. The night before I specifically asked for a quote for a Triple Room, 2 adults and 1 child. The staff is nice, but they do not speak very good English, so they also made a mistake on our excursion to see Penguins. The rooms are nice, but not worth the price.

  Once again they had made a mistake, but I had to pay for transfer to and from boat. When you pay $250 plus USD you expect luxury service and accomodatiions.

  The hotel is undeniably beautiful, the staff superb, the food excellent, the grounds well maintained. When we checked in, we were even told we were being bumped up to the junior suite. This might be the reason why the prices seemed a bit steep, tons of employees running around (we had three grab our bags) with little to do and few guests to take care of, and this was in the middle of summer. While dinner in the restaraunt was great, breakfast left a bit to be desired. Water coming out of the faucets smelled strongly of bleach and quickly wrinkled your skin. The suite had only twin beds and the mattresses and bedding were of very dubious quality. The free shuttle into Ushuaia only runs on the hour and stops completely at 7:30 pm at night, it's not walking distance to town for most people (45 minutes to an hour).

  The room is very comfortable, with double-glass windows, perhaps the deco of the rooms is a bit baroque for my taste (heavy curtains, flowered wallpapers) but I cannot complaint. Satellite TV, safe in room, internet, full service and full comfort. The staff is helpful and friendly, you can arrange all the excursions on the front desk. Breakfast is buffet served in a nice climated and covered patio. Dinner is spectacular, with a wide variety of fish dishes (trout mainly). To have a drink at the english bar, with a wonderful panorama of the ushuaia bay and the beagle channel, is a pleasure. The spa is very special, with a lot of treatments, massages, a swimming pool with a bottom of natural rock. The spa is connected with the main hotel by a climated crystal gallery, so you can see the hayas, the lengas and the snowing over you as you walk into the spa with your robe de chambre.

  I have to recognize, that I didn't like the way they dress the room.

  We were treated like royalty, and even given the luxury suite! Breathtaking views, excellent cuisine and extremely helpful staff, felt like heaven at the end of the world!

  The wireless didn't work and when I complained, they said it doesn't work with dell computers! The furniture is bargain basement oak and the decorating ridiculous.

  Yes, they have a bus but it would be nice to be able to walk easily to and from town.

  Beds need replacing and the wallpaper in the good-sized rooms is a bit disorienting. To add insult to injury, you pay USD $1 for each little bottle of water you consume in your room.

  Staff tries hard but they're on par with the Red Roof Inn.
